Hey to All,
Just log in to introduce myself. I am a long time lurker and an avid one at that. Some of you may remeber some of my influence. I am the guy who did this:
http://public.fotki.com/2756/hat/firstcairomeasure.html
and this:
http://public.fotki.com/2756/hat/measurecairo.html
for Fedora.
Since then I've done this:
http://public.fotki.com/2756/hat/cairo31.html
and this:
http://public.fotki.com/2756/hat/cairo33.html
with my own block. Much thanks to Fedora for all his help and input. For two years I was obsessed with reverse engineering the Raiders block. Good fortune came my way when Fedora allowed me to view one of his vintage Herbert Johnson's. I won't go into agonizing details, but after learning bondo and sanding and hat making techniques I believe I reached as close as I can get. I was very picky in my pursuit. Fedora was my sounding post and am very greatful in his help.
Anyway, I figured it was time to stick out my neck and publicly enter into this forum and open up for the scrutiny of your observant eyes. I feel I know many here since I have lurked for so long. A common place for land surveyors (lurking around) especially in the woods. I look forward to your comments.....I think.
I'll work a few more shots up later seeing as how I want to make sure I don't embarrass myself too much.
That's it. Box it up!

Thanks Ohio Jones. Reverse engineering is an odd department for a Surveyor. I usually work more in the realm of "as-builts". Although, I have been called on to "make things work".
Thanks Indiana G. I've noticed your handy work in another thread. Nice work.
As promised, a few more pics.

I am curious as to what ya'll think of the crown height. Both hats are AB's that I have reblock numerous times, while testing my block. I started out with a block that Fedora's block maker (LaMode) made for me. I had him give a try at replicating what I was looking for, but ended up doing it myself. There were too many little things that I could not get unless I "sanded alittle here, and sanded a little there". By having that HJ as a reference I attacked many theories and proved or disproved many things.
When I first found this forum, I was impressed by 3thou$ efforts. I have traveled down the path that he is currently on with the 360 theory. I have my conclusion. This block is not your typical run-of-the-mill block.
That's it. Box it up.
