MOTB feaux paux

Post by knibs7 »

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have noticed this, but in MOTB, Indy isn't wearing his MKVII in the cabin. Also, I found it quite funny at the end when Great Cloud asks Indy, "What are we going to do now?" In typical Indy fashion, as seen in CS, Indy says, "They've got guns!"

Maybe it finally wore out.

He had on so much stuff anyway, it would've been uncomfortable to have that slung around him too.

I don't think it wore out because we see it in CS, however it does make sense that he wouldn't want to have even MORE stuff on him

I guess when they made that, they figured the E.T. approach would be too difficult (CGI being as primitive as it was). They planned ahead and gave him the walkie-talkie right on the set to make it more "family friendly", right?

I just watched this on a 110" screen (and sorry no screen grabs).

When he gets out of the car, he clearly has a walkie talkie on his belt (not CG'd, unless they're VERY good).

When they get in to the cabin, also very clear he has a walkie talkie.

In the scenes where he walks through the snow and the snowfall is superimposed, you can see he has a Webley holster. I suspect they realized this error and added extra snow over the top of it in post production. ("eh, we'll fix it in post")

I'll try and get a grabs but my DVD software is acting up on my PC.

I also think the walkie talkie solves the plot point, which is "couldn't Indy just shoot them if they have guns". Now, the dialog in the cabin is incredibly lame though!

Does anyone think that the walkie-talkie might simply have been an honest error? Given that Harrison was driving that pick-up truck, could the walkie-talkie have been for the camera crew to tell him when to hit the gas and such?

Or is it just me? :?

That is exactly what I was thinking because why would Indy have a walkie talkie? It's not like he was talking to anyone else. It makes him look like a park ranger :?

Did anyone notice that while Indy is saying "They've got guns!" you can see the other guy´s pistol lying on the floor?
But still the saxophone ending is great!

I see the holster with the pistol and I see some kind of bag on Grey Cloud´s back. But it´s very hard to be sure that it´s a MkVII
