Wested Washed Lamb

I finally got around to posting some pics of my off the rack Wested washed lamb jacket. Once it arrived, I promptly washed it again and threw it in the dryer. The slight green shaded cast was reduced and it lightened up to an extent. It's a little darker again with a some leather dressing on it. I ordered a size 44R and it shrunk to the ideal size as far as I'm concerned, one might argue it's a bit loose, but I prefer that look having grown up in the 80's and 90's; I'm more used to a slightly looser fit. Extreme tight fitting clothing says 60's 70's hippies to me (it's back in style again), but that just one person's perception. Buying such a large size was a bit of a gamble for me since I normally wear a size 40 jacket, but I think it paid off. I'm quite pleased with the jacket, it's become my favorite. Sorry if I look displeased in the photos, I think I forgot to smile. Shameless plug, if anyone wants my Wested 40R novapelle it's still for sale in the bazaar section. It's a great jacket and I still like some qualities of the leather better, I just thought the cut was a bit constricting.

Personally, I think people buy jackets that are too small based on what they think is SA. Your's looks like a jacket should fit - room to move, room to layer, and it's not choking you! Good job.

That's a very nice jacket indeed. I also have the Washed Lamb jacket, and it is FANTASTIC. Although at first, I was distraught by the hint of green, but with a little pecards' it's long and gone

The leather feels great and best... it distress very easily

There was only a limited run of about 20 jackets I think. They're no longer available, as far as I know.

The jury's still out on your jacket. We can't decide if it's a nice jacket without an action photo, maybe with a politician on TV in the background, some flowered wallpaper and some pistol-waving. Maybe then.

It is a very nice jacket. Really great fit and the color has really improved. I had a washed lamb but sold it in order to get something else. What's your take on the durability factor?

My second (custom) washed lamb fits a lot like yours. Very comfortable!

This is one jacket that really wears well and is a lot more resilient than I think it's given credit for. Here's my version:



I need to go over some (unnatural) wear with brown Pecard's but I love the way the hide creases.

Well, it does look worn that is for sure, maybe ten years? Just think, it will look like 20 in no time at all (not sure that's a good thing though).

Nah, I've sworn off pink flowers for the time being, it was time to mix up the scenery and not pose in my grandmother's visiting room.
You'll have to educate me on that one, define "lay flat" and what is their desired function of choice?

I guess I should get in my full garb and shoot at some politicians on the screen kind of like in previous appearances? Then you'll be able to determine if it's a satisfactory jacket.

It does seem durable to me, I put some fuller's earth on it for Halloween and it was more wrinkled out of the dryer, but I spray bottled it with water since then and actually ironed it on the low heat permanent press setting to restore some flatness to the leather. I don't see any fraying of the stitches and there is only very minor light scuffing on the lower edges of the sleeves. It looks like the leather wears well and should be capable of taking a beating for a reasonable amount of years to come.

I agree 100% it seems to be wearing very well, about as well as the novapelle but in "it's own way". Looks like your sleeves are well creased on the washed lamb, looks very nice.

Ok, yes, one is slightly wavy and the other is pretty straight.

They are partially open but I could spray bottle them and do the low permanent press setting on the iron to fix that...
