Aldens and concrete
Michaelson, before you come over to kick me where the sun doesn't shine, I USED PECARDS AFTERWARDS!!!
Ok, Friday evening when I came home, the sand that my contractor and I had put on the floor of the new hat shop was FINALLY dry, so we could start to egalise the 5" of hight difference, before we covered the entire floor with styrofoam plates, then some foil followed by a metal grid. Saturday we rented a concrete mixer and started putting the new floor in. Since it was freezing cold, we had to use warm water, so the concrete wouldn't freeze in the mixer.
During the entire process from 8am to 9pm I wore my AB Alden boots and to be honest, they looked like @#$% when we were done. So I rinsed them with a cloth and some warm water for 15-20 minutes, let them dry for 25 hours and then gave them a fair amound of Pecards.
Here you can see them before and after the Pecards treatment:
Regards,
Marc

They recovered nicely from your abuse my friend, but as Michaelson said:" At least you did the right thing by them"
It's the best pair of shoes I ever had, I'm so happy that I jumped in when the first batch was ordered. I haven't see a pair of shoes with that much attention to detail since my grandfather stopped making shoes.
Cheers,
-K

No the "before" is on the right and the "after" is on the left...VP wrote:So the before one is on the left, right?Marc wrote:Here you can see them before and after the Pecards treatment:
Of course Marc wore these "before" so technically they could both be considered "after" following a "before" that isn't pictured...
So for all intensive purposes they are both after...If that's the way you want to look at it...Kinda like that whole chicken or egg thing I guess..
But seriously the before picture is on the right as Marc wore them to put a concrete floor in his shop...The pair on the left is what they looked like after he had done his Pecards and cleaning job to it...
