"CALABASAS, CA -- Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from "Star Wars," Indiana Jones' hat and whip from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and Batman's cowl from "Batman Begins" will soon be up for auction.

The lightsaber is expected to sell for at least $150,000.

Other items featured in the auction include C3PO's helmet, a complete set of "Harry Potter" books signed by J.K. Rowling, a three-volume collection of "The Lord of the Rings" signed by J.R.R. Tolkien, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's costume from "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

The items are for sale as part of Profiles in History's Hollywood auction, to be held December 11th.

I'm actually quite convinced that this is the hero hat worn in a lot of the mine scenes.
Though as far as the whip is concerned... I sense... shenanigans! :-k

...in that case, you might need C3PO's 'helmet'. ;-)

That lightsaber better be able to barbeque my steaks, hunt down my dinner, and act as a home security device, in other words I ain't paying 150 grand if it doesn't function as advertised in the movies.

Wile I was working in construction, we were doing a demo job in a house that was a serious pain the ###. One fella said it would be so much easier with a light saber, which I thought was funny coming from him. Later that day a bunch of us drew up plans for the Craftsman Adjustable Light Sabre for use in all home improvement and construction projects, we also had grand ideas of military marketing. Just imagine Bob Vila demonstrating that one in a commercial. We figured it would retail for about 250 grand back then. Just becuase we could charge that much to the government.
