New Whip from Indiana_Hall

Post by scot2525 »

I recieved this whip on Monday from Chris Hall. It is a custom 4' nylon whip with a scaled down handle for my son. I am very impressed with the construction and quality of this whip. :) Almost too impressed with it as I fear my son may actually hurt himself with this whip. :( It cracks easily and loudly. My son already has a cheap ebay whip that doesn't crack worth a #### but I was wanting something that had more of a Raiders look to it and Chris really delivered. Here are a couple pics.

Just curious ...
When did you order your whip?

Hey scot2525,

Beautiful whip. And don't worry, boys need to do exciting, and even dangerous stuff :whip: (to a degree) to grow up right.

Indiana Hall,

Did you use heat, or a chemically "hot" solution to get that whip to look "weathered"? It's a cool look!

very nice
my daughter is 3 and she loves playing with whips, you are never too young i guess. I am going to order some pink nylon to make her a hello kitty whip.

"Trust me" ;-) , AJ he does plenty of exciting and dangerous stuff. In fact I belive every family member has given my wife and I a lecture along the lines of " If you keep letting him do that/ or you think it is funny that he does that YOU WILL REGRET IT when he is in the ER getting stitches or has a broken bone." But yet, knocking on wood, outside of a few bad bumps, bruises, and scrapes he gets along just fine and not a trip to medcheck or the ER. In fact a couple of family members, whom have given us a lecture, had to take their own children to the ER for stitches or broken bones.

AJ from what I know regarding the whip, I_H used two different heavily dyed nylons for the whip. The nylons had so much dye hat he had to seal the nylon to prevent the dye from bleeding onto the hands when using. I chose a saddle tan color for the handle and thong and dark brown for the transition knot. I few areas in the handle and the rest of the whip that appear darker are where the dye really soaked in or lighting issues.

Hey scot2525,

So it's dye "leaking" out of the whip (sort of). What a really cool looking whip.

You know, looking back, it's a wonder we survived at all. We shot bb guns at each other. We made tree houses, zip lines, and sword fought with any long pointy item we could find. We went swimming in the quarry (without telling anyone). We had rock fights and played baseball without helmets. We rode no hands on our bikes and had no padding. We made (junk) whips and cracked them (sort of). Don't listen to your relatives too much!!
