Please help me out with Todds

Post by PLATON »

I would appreciate if someone who owns a Todd's standard LARGE gives me the following measurements

Front (storm flap length)
Back (from bottom of collar stand to bottom of jacket)
Chest (armpit to armpit with jacket zipped up laying flat)
Shoulder span at seam
Waist
Sleeve length (from shoulder seam to bottom of sleeve)
Shoulder (across seam)

Thanks and regards

Here's a link to the sizing guide if it is useful:

Well, I wear wested 40R.
I need to find out if the Todd's size M fits more like a Wested 80s fit sz 40 or like a standard cut sz 40.

Last night I measured the chest of my Wested standard cut and it's 22'' i.e. 44 circumference. The same as Todd's M!!!

The problem is I always had the impression that Todd's is a snug fit. I am against the 80s fit (snug) and think that the standard (fuller) cut of Wested is more SA. (The last 80s fit I got was too tight)

I am having trouble selecting between a M and L Todd's.
Any ideas?

Platon,I am a 36 inch chest,I like a looser fit and the Todds medium fits just right for me(I sized up),I think the medium will be too snug for you.

i was almost going to order my todds jacket this week --- then my paypal hit a snag and the the 160 dollars i had in paypal. i had to pay for shipping for a small box and instead of charging the 9.99 it charged me 99.99 now i have to wait 21 fxxxgxn days to get my money back---- i was so looking to getting my todds jacket within the next few weeks .
but i have the offical indiana jones jacket from a lottery in florida and its a xl and its a bit loose --- so im thinking of getting a large in todds ---but just in case it doesnt fit --- does todds do a exchange for a diffrent size, without much of a fuss?

I think the general rule of thumb has been to order a size up from what you normally wear. I normally wear a OTR Large, and ordered a 2-XL. It fits fine, with a little room in the chest.

I can understand your quest. From all I've read, these fit smaller in the chest than the chart indicates. I'd guess you should go with a Large at least. Note sleeve and back length too.

I am a 44T and opted for the XXL Standard even though I felt the XL would fit. The XXL ended up being a great fit albeit the chest are was slightly loose fitting.

I ended up giving the entire jacket a hot shower (as hot as I could get the shower); it fits like a glove now and really looks the part.

I concur with the others, I had a 40 Reg from Wested, to small, purchased a 42 custom for a great fit. I have an XL Todd's standard and it fits but is definetley snugger than my Wested 42 especially in the arms.

thats what i'm looking for ---- a little snuggier in the arms --- like i said the xl indy jacket i got from the florida lottery firts nice , but the arms are a bit loose looking ---- but i looked at the measurements for the xl large i have and the xl on todds and both are the same ---- i want a tighter fitting jacket --- ( i realize that in the winter i wouldn't be able to wear a sweater in a large)but it would look better on me i think?plus i do wanta darker color jacket this one is nice but a bit light ?
this is my pic in my florida indy jacket

I have a question about todds color...which would be more accurate Todds or a Wested (raiders special lamb) in color? I don't want to jack this thread but I've searched for over an hour

todd's washed lamb is pretty bang on imo....just needs a slight red tint and less grey.....but i do not know what his new leather stock looks like as this was a year ago. he's also offering washed cow now!

i love todd's jackets over wested as the leather looks the part for an adventure jacket. wested's leathers are too perfect imo.....but some folks lean more on quality and asthetics than screen accuracey.....which i'm totally cool with 8)
