Is "authentic" goat different?

Post by Walker »

I have seen several posts referring to authentic goatskin that wested offers. Their website does not have this as one of the options. Does Peter have a different goat now and if so, how does it differ from the other goat he had? Just wondering b/c I'm compiling info on the type of hide to order.
Thanks, Walker :?

The 'authentic' goat refers to the correct color leather that Peter has found a source for that exactly matches a sampleRaiders jacket he found in his move this year. It's tanned in Italy (like the 'authentic' lambskin) and is a lighter brown coloration than his standard goat. If you're wanting a goatskin that is the same color and appearance as the original Raiders jacket, you best specifically request 'authentic' goat. Regards. Michaelson

As far as the Wested site, if you look under ‘sizing’ and skip down to OPTIONS -> Leather and click ‘view samples’ you will see the color difference. Also do a search here on COW and you will find a wealth of additional information that may help.
