NH pocket flaps - Re-Tailored to SA...

Post by FordPerfect »

So thanks to Peter B's persistance I finally got my NH Raiders trousers. Sadly it took almost six months as they were lost in transit during Noel's passing and only after the inventory was bought did they resurface, so I'm very grateful as these pants are simply the best -

But -
The pocket flaps are vile and having being spoilt by owning a pair of Magnoli's trousers for so long with their SA flaps and then discovering more reference to the originals thanks to the Making Of book not to mention KT Templar's outstanding pictures I found someone willing to re-shape them. It's a silly thing I know, but my new seamstress was baffled as to why doing this and getting it right was so important. It took her three attempts before I okayed them and she thinks I'm mad. Hopefully you guys will leave some positive comments so she can understand the level of detail a true gearhead can appreciate? She don't believe me....

Anyway - On with the pictures...

And mine;

Is should be noted that she modified the existing ones rather than create new so are as close as the existing flap will permit. The buttons were obviously changed (and stitched on upside down, SA fans) and a seam was added across the top.
I'm pleased as punch as now I feel I have the best pants with the closest flaps based on the evidence we have.
