Aldens lace question

Post by Gobler »

I love my new Aldens but the laces seem really long. I wear them wrapped around my ankel once then tied for a short bow. I don't like a really long bow since they seem to become untied after a while. How do yu wear your Aldens, and is there a shorter lace?

Cheers,
Jeff

They have a 45 inch lace for the old boots, and a 54 inch length for the new ones. Sounds to me like you got the longer of the two. Regards. Michaelson

Man, I wish I had that problem when I got my pair. Congrats on your new shoe.

That explains the extra length on my new laces that I bought at the Alden Shop last year. I thought they were too long! Now I have 2 or 3 sets of brand new laces, excluding including the ones currently in my boots, that are way too long. Is it possible to still order the original length laces? It's been driving me crazy!

Yes, HJS ordered up about 5 or 6 extra pairs (of the shorter ones) from the SF store. Have to say--they have great customer service there, and FAST shipping.

Cool, I bought my pair from Fritz over at fredrick's shoes. Super nice guy as well. I will give a call and see if I can get a set of the 45's. I bought a spare set not knowing they would be too long. Prhaps I can trade them. :D Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it.

Cheers,
Jeff
