Is there some vital bit of Info on those pants that eludes me - that sets them so far a part from your run of the mill everyday K-Mart khakis?
Basically it's the cavarly twill wool which is one of the most expensive and highest quality wool that exist. A tailor, who I gave my Noel Howard trousers to finish the length to, complimented me for the purchase of them and said that it's one of the best material that will last me a lifetime. I asked him how much would it cost to make a copy (made on measure though) of them in the same material and he said something around 300 euro. The stuff doesn't come cheap.
K-Mart khakis are not even on the same planet of the Indiana Jones trousers. No offence to the KMart khakis

The flaps here look a lot more pointed, and deeper at the point, than what I see being sold as authentic.
Yes there isn't a 100% screen accurate choice around just yet. Noel Howard unfortunately died just when he was on the verge of changing them to make them identical to the film-used ones that he owned.
Hopefully Peter will pick up from where he left... and I'm also still hoping to see Todd's trousers.
Hey Ipa53, Those flaps are the real deal. There are 2 vendors that make flaps that come close to that: Magnoli comes close and Platon's Paris Pants are dead-on IMO.
If the flaps are a big deal to you and you want 100% SA, I'd suggest you check out the thread on Paris Pants. If you don't find them too expensive, please pre-order them: he needs 3 more pre-orders to make them and I am one of those who realy wants them ;-)
Added to the "what's so special about the pants" line, I was reading on the Indygear pants page that the normal hem for a military pant (and for the movie) was around 3-4 nches. You can see it in the pics but I wonder how noticable it is "in person".
It looks like not even Wested or NH does this. Is this something that those wanting SA don't really care about?
I just dropped off a pair of Westeds and a pair of NH pants to the tailor to have her hem my pants and I asked for a 3" hem. I think if you are going for SA pants it's a must for the 3 to 4 inch hem . Just my 2 cents.

Since the Westeds come with the unfinished leg at 35" and I'm a 31, AND my wife's a good seamstress, guess that would be the way to go.
