Hugh Jackman wears Indy holster in new film 'Australia'

Post by TheMechanic »

Well, Indy style holster. Very very close to the Raiders holster for sure. A bit longer perhaps. Also, I wonder if that's an Akubra he's wearing?

Certainly looks more Raiders to me than the others.. look at the shape and position of the flap.

The others don't have as much shape as the Raiders one. His definitely looks like a longer Raiders holster.

Interesting he'd wear it like that though... maybe he likes the sword-draw?

Maybe he was afraid people would notice and think he was trying to copy Indy if he wore it the other way

I have to agree with McFly, looks more like a Raiders holster to me.
It could be longer because it's not an exact copy. Who knows, maybe they tried to replicate the Raiders holster, but decided it needed to be longer because of the shape of the gun used in that movie? :-k
Interesting find.

Good eye Mechanic, you never cease to amaze with your attention to detail. That looks exactly like my Keppler holster for my 5.5 barrel S&W New Classic m1917 .45

Also, keep in mind that the S&W was originally made with a 5.5" barrel. Michaelson please correct me if I am wrong.

That's correct - so it could be the same holster but made for the standard S&W rather than Indy's modified one. Actually, who's to say Indy didn't have his holster modified to fit the gun, too? :P

Jackman is wearing the holster cross-draw or "Cavalry" style. Most mounted horsemen wear their pistol cross draw because it's easier to access when seated in the saddle.

I thought the movie trailer looked promising when I saw it repeatedly while going to see CS. I had forgotten about it, when's it out?

;)

Kinda promising I think.

Is this a whip or just putting another one on the grill?

Could this be Jackman's holster?

Made to fit 6" barrels, new from What Price Glory.

Looks pretty close. The strap is a little higher on Jackman's flap and his looks like the portion that holds the body of the gun has a little more shape to it. Otherwise very close indeed.

Could just be the wet-forming of the pistol too. After holsters are formed they tend to twist and take on a different shape.
