Through the Years...
After Temple of Doom is when I got my first hat. I wore it all through my senior year of High School and all through college. Even my college ID has a picture of my wearing it.
I wore it TO DEATH!
The Stetson, as it is today...
It's loaded with sweat stains and I can't get it on my head without forcing it. My son likes it though. The lining is somewhere in a box in our attic, so yeah, I still have it.
Then, about five years ago I think, I got me a Dorfman. Hey, I got a good price for it... Whadya' want?
As IT is today...
I've gotten my use out of it, but I haven't worn it as much as I'd like to. Baseball hats have made it take the back seat. I got it wet a bunch of times and obviously the lesser quality of the material has allowed it to shrink and taper.
Last Saturday, prior to our Halloween party, my Akubra Fed IV Deluxe came in the mail.
It's already gotten a pretty thorough SOAKING in the rain we had all night, the night I got it. I had to go outside and help our caterers. You guys are right... These Feds are TOUGH!
I'm working on giving it a Raiders shape. I wanna' curl the back and sides upwards a bit... I guess I'm gonna' have to use the steam approach. Just bending it by hand isn't working.
What's your oldest Indy hat? Post a picture of it, if you still got it!

Yeah, that's a little Iron Man helmet that a very talented sculptor made a little while back. He's now made a much larger version, that's 100% accurate to the film. He's also making the full suit as we speak (type). He goes by Fettster on the RPF... http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=50789
That helmet has a couple of coats of primer on it right now. It's gonna' have the red and gold soon. The blue eyes are just the tape covering the screen material I glued behind the eyes. I should have waited to put that on, until I painted, but my son wanted to mess around with the helmet first.
I'm putting it together for my son, who's gonna' obviously be Iron Man for Halloween. That helmet can't fit an adult. It's way too small. But it sure looks cool on my son.

Here you go:
I bought this hat on a flee market way back in 1983. I was all of eight years old and paid two and a half guilders for it.
I wore it everytime my parents let me get away with it, untill it finally was way too small for me.
And as you can see, I still have it.
Though I had to look all through the basement to find it...
