Alden's and Fuller's
I think this has been discussed here before, but can anyone tell me if putting fuller's earth on your boots is a bad decision? Of course I'm dressing up as Indy this year and I want to have a "dirty" look. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

I personally don't use Fullers earth on my 405s because it comes off too easily by just sprinkling it on. Now this is just ME, but what I do is wet them down and throw Fullers earth on them to make them more crusted mud like. That is of course AFTER I have sanded them and hiked in them for a long while.

You're right Nibs. New Alden's have a very smooth surface and the FE doesn't cling to it very well. I found myself reapplying it all night long.knibs7 wrote:I personally don't use Fullers earth on my 405s because it comes off too easily by just sprinkling it on.
