How do the Aldens look worn with Jeans?
so I have a serious spinal injury I'm dealing with and undergoing several treatment routes in an attempt to avoid or prolong the need for surgery. One thing I need is a comfortable, cushioning shoe to wear everyday. This may be my excuse to buy the Aldens! Yay spinal injuries!
Anyway, how do they look worn with jeans? I imagine they'd look good...

To be honest, I don't think they do look good with jeans - has too much of a "lumber-jack" effect. Aldens look fine with most things, but jeans are the exclusion, imo. If I'm wearing jeans, I pretty much always wear sneakers. -McitRon wrote: so I have a serious spinal injury I'm dealing with and undergoing several treatment routes in an attempt to avoid or prolong the need for surgery. Yeah, but you'd be okay. You could sleep all night and work all day.Mulceber wrote:To be honest, I don't think they do look good with jeans - has too much of a "lumber-jack" effect.

Get well soon man.
I wear Aldens with jeans all the time and I consistently get compliments especially from my female friends. They seem to think they look cool when I wear them with jeans that are rolled into cuffs at the bottom. Very "1920's" is the phrase. Maybe "very farmer" would be more accurate. My grandpa used t wear a very similar boot with his overalls.

I think they look great with jeans, and wear them all the time. However, I don't think I would ever describe Alden's as "cushiony". Comfortable yes, but considering your condition, I would check with your doctor before dropping over $300 on shoes. Heck, if he gives you the go ahead, maybe you can even get your insurance to buy you some Aldens!!!

I like wearing them with jeans, but not when the jeans are too light. I like dark jeans with them though. I think they look killer!
Knibs looks great up there! ^ And look at the dust on those shoes! Very nice look! (Only here can you rough up a pair of $300 shoes to make them look GOOD. )

To me, Aldens really don't give a lumber-jack look. But a nice pair of high heel red pumps on the other hand...Neolithic wrote:Yeah, but you'd be okay. Hmmm... perhaps I shouldn't have said that...

Great photo! Looks like a Corona ad.thelivingforce wrote:Oh yeah, they're great!
Cannot see much of the jeans, but I always liked this photo.

Wasn't the story that Harrison Ford wanted the Aldens because he wore them when he worked as a carpenter, prior to his acting career? If that story is true, then I'll bet HE wore Aldens with jeans!

I like the way they look with jeans. I have to agree Ford probably wore them with jeans before anyone else did. I used to wear a Redwing boot 30 years ago with a similar sole (not rugged looking) and wore as a daily wearer with jeans. The Aldens look very suave with jeans.
Can Indiana Jones be suave?

Ditto on that...I did however, covertly, wear my beat up pair with a black suit to a friends wedding this past September without my wife discovering until I showed up (We arrived separately). Needless to say she was none to happy and I got the evil eye every time I laced up my boots for the next few days. Perhaps it was because the pair I wore looked like they just came out of a Tanis dig site or something ....Oh well I was a gear head when she married me so for all intensive purposes it's really her fault ....tunic wrote:I wear mt Aldens every day.
