jacka-lantern : )

Post by Indiana G »

i decided to take my new TJ 10' whip for a spin tonite......i should of carbed up more. this thing is heeeeeeaaavy!!!!! i got use to the stiff transition quite quickly, but this is like 3 times the weight of my 8' del carpio.

man....my forearms is just burning  the weight does allow for a huge kapow!!! with very little effort but to keep her in flight you better eat your spinach :)

i got the basic cracks out of her but then i tried a tasmanian cutback and she still didn't make it around by the time i was trying to pull her up....LOL....maybe next time.

i think i understand why there wasn't that much whip work in the new movie: "mr. ford, we're gonna shoot the whip fight with the graveyard warrior".....
"uhm, how bout i just use my webley???.....that whip is too heavy......."

here some pics o my jacka-lantern:

and here's the "viagra" factor of the thong:

i pecarded the fall and put her away for the night...another strange thing....long fall........very long......sorry i'm use to 8 footers.

That is A LOT of whip! I concur it does take some time getting used to a longer length whip but to add to it the extra weight of the Jacka style, well, you could probably market it as a new workout routine. Kinda like Indy style Pilates. :)

Regardless, it is a great looking whip. Congrats!

Wow, that's quite the transition. My Foxx KotCS also has a stiffened transtiion, as well as the Maxwell Special and it'll take a while for the Cutback. I'd swing it around and bend over and smack myself. But with some work, it'll come. The only advice I have is roll WITH the whip when trowing it as opposed to against it. Those transitions make it not only a lot easier but it works better too ;D

Ok, the "viagra" effect. I got a big kick out of that. Thanks for making my day.
But I must say, holy cow! That thing is super stiff! Now I know what others are talking about. Incredible.

Great looking whip! I can hardly wait for mine. Terry emailed me the other day for my shipping address so he can apply for the export permit. He said he hasn't made it yet but wanted to get the paperwork ready ahead of time. Soon I hope.

:rolling:

i can truly and honestly say that i did not not see that coming  ......now i know how you guyz feel!

i wouldn't have this whip if it weren't for you Dan so i am truly thankful for all the help you gave me.

with that, you probably won't be making friends with my wife anytime soon.....she gets a little annoyed when i place this puppy next to my UNCRACKED, MINT 10' DM. i've had to listen to "why another whip?" for a really long time now. perhaps i'll get one of them pocket whips so i can crack it while she's talking........"sorry honey.....can't hear you......."

In that case, I suggest you buy her something too before she gets tempted to use that whip on you! Flowers, jewelry and shoes usually go over well, hey did you ever see those sterling silver bullwhip charms?

That's a great looking whip Indiana G. Reading your comments on the 10' makes me feel better about ordering the 8' "J" series. I already have two 10' whips and one 8' so I wanted to get another 8'. I just got an email from Terry with some pics of my whip. It is finished but he is waiting for the export papers to ship it. I could see that extra long stiff transition on mine as well. Made it look like there wasn't much whip thong left after it started curving. I can't wait to see how it performs once it gets here.

That’s good news Paul ,I know you’ve been waiting awhile for one of these bullwhips too. Hopefully it shouldn’t be more then a couple more weeks now that your just waiting on the permit. I am looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing your thoughts on it when it arrives. :)

Dan

No word from Steve but I am hoping to see a box on my doorstop or an email letting me know it has been shipped any day now.
