What a great community!

Post by TurnerME »

I just want to a minute to say what a great community there is amongst whip lovers. I have been so impressed with everyone I have communicated with. I mean makers, performers, collectors, the whole lot of them. It is more than just people with a common interest. Everyone who involved with whips on any level and has shared that passion should give themselves a pat on the back.

When I was recovering from my eBay whip purchase Chris Camp helped me decide to go with Joe Strain. Joe was super nice, and made me an incredible whip. Chris even helped walk me through some of the basics on the phone. I mean he is just a super nice guy. I later found Gus Caicedo and from my many posts you know my thoughts on him and his work.

I also want to mention all the great videos on youtube. To Adam, Chris, James Maxwell, and all the others I really do appreciate the videos you submit.

Then there is COW and wow what a great group of people here. Earlier today I was surfing the forum at work and a co-worker asked what "Club Obi Wan" meant. I explained and then had to explain that there is more to whip lovers than Indy films. They were amazed that so many people shared this interest.

****You deserve a pat on the back****

I second everything you said. This forum is truly a unique place to come too. I'm also really impressed by how easily it is to have conversations with certain whip makers on this forum. What I like the most is when you have that "big" question that just stumps you. Post it as a new thread and what do you get? A professional answering your question. I love it.

Well whenever I had questions about whipmaking, I always found the more experienced whipmakers to be very generous with both their time and hard-earned knowledge. In turn this is something I am trying to pass down to others who show an interest in whips. I don't know what it is about this group of people or why they are all so kind, but like the old saying goes 'If it ain't broke...
