Anyone heard from Bernardo del Carpio?
I'm getting a little worried since it's been a while since I heard from him last and no replies to recent emails. I was supposed to be getting my 8ft Raiders by mid October.
Update:
It's possible I misunderstood him after re-reading the last email from him. Mid-October might have been the start date on my whip and it would take about 3 days to complete. There's still hope.

Honestly, I was starting to wonder the same thing until I noticed that he had a two-tone bullwhip for sale in the Cairo bizarre.
I'm sure he is very busy with orders, like most whip makers currently are but also being in the process of settled back in Peru after his trip to the U.S., would no doubt take up much of his time as well. Still it would be nice to hear if he’s all right.
While I doubt it will make you feel better, I’ve been waiting on an order from him for a while too. It was supposed to arrive in early September, but didn’t. I would venture to guess he is a bit behind schedule.

Yeah, as Dan says, that's pretty much what may have happened. I was having great conversations with him about whipmaking, both of us being Spanish speakers. But I then noticed he was very busy, and preferred to let him do his work. The last time I knew about him, he told me he was spending a week with David Morgan and later with Joe Strain.
Uh oh!!! I was supposed to get mine mid-October too, so that it would come in time for the QM! Bernaaaardooooooooo!!!!BullWhipBorton wrote:While I doubt it will make you feel better, I’ve been waiting on an order from him for a while too. Hi All,
I am OK, working hard to get your orders done. Dan explained my situation pretty well. Basically things got a bit crazy for me with all the orders, and my recent trip to the States and back to Peru.
As many of you know, I stayed for quite a while in the States (5 months), and just recently got back to Peru. I had to rent a new apartment, set up my shop, etc. Both leaving the States and settling back here in Peru has taken a lot of time, and I already was behind schedule due to an injury to my left wrist back in June.
Good news is, I am back to work, everything set up now, my hands had time to fully recover, and getting up to speed to deliver those orders. To all my dear customers, please bear with me, I am doing my best to finish and ship your whips as soon as possible.
While my trip back and forth to the States made my life a bit more complicated, I surely had a great time, met some great people in the whip world, and I also had the chance of visiting again my hero David Morgan, and meet Joe "The machine" Strain! As soon as I find the time, I will write about my experience with them, with plenty of pics.
Now I have to get back to work on your whips
Regards,
Bernardo

Glad to hear that you're alive and well, and back home Bernardo! I'd meant to get over to Dayton again before you left Ohio, but due to scheduling strangeness, and bizarre life events, that never happened.
It was great spending time with you while you were here, and I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip, (speaking of, I need to call Mr. Morgan. I had scheduled and interview with him and never followed up because of...well...scheduling strangeness and bizarre life events.)
Anyway, all the best and happy braiding and cracking!

Just received from Bernardo a 10.5 footer...no photos yet sorry but it exceeds all my expectations and it is perfect.
I asked for one with a Morgan length wrist loop. It is in saddle tan, based on the LC model that Bernardo makes, but with brandy Indy 4 style knots. The thing I like about it best is that it has the definite classic Morgan look to it, yet at the same time is an indy 4.
