Can I go to England and get a Wested in person?

Post by Trebor »

Ok, hear me out. I know I don't HAVE to go to England to get a Wested, but what if I did go? Would I be able to have the jacket custom fitted and wear it right out of the store within a couple days?

I know it sounds kind of silly, but my wife and I love to travel anyway and we haven't been to Europe in a few years. I'm just thinking that for out next big trip we could go back to England for a few days before heading over to the continent so we really wouldn't be going JUST to get a jacket.

I just don't know if they'd be set up for that kind of business or receptive to the idea at all. Of course, I'd try to arrange for a appointment before we flew out, but I'm just wondering if they'd do anything on-site at all.

Any thoughts?

Rob

BTW, I just realized we have friends in San Francisco we've been meaning to visit for years. Maybe we should schedule something soon and I could get a pair of Aldens as well....

I'm not sure that you would get your jacket in a couple of days, even in person (unless there was a return etc. ready to go and in your size?) as Wested have a production time of about three weeks I think.
I read on this site that Peter and Wested are happy for anyone to visit, and they may also measure you up in-shop for the perfect fit; but you would have to contact Peter to ask about the super-quick turnaround time you hope for, a I would guess it is not possible. Could be wrong though!

Well I know MK ordered a jacket in the US and then went to Wested to pick it up while he was in England and others have been to Wested and got fitted there and then had their jacket sent to them. But i think its about a week to make a jacket. Speak to Peter though - he is usually quite accommodating.

Hey there Ken!

My family and I have decided to save up and go to Ireland in about 2 years! Any possibility for an Ireland get-to-gether with a few Indy fans in that area?
