LC hat lining - Did you know that?

Post by Restless Dreamer »

So I thougth the lining was plain as seen at 01:34:47 in the DVD, when the wind brings back the hat to Indy. But at Donovan's place, at 16:58, I spotted a mark in the lining.

Sorry for not providing photos, and I know that ;0 but I'm sure you all have a DVD at hand :P

I think it's the Herbert Johnson logo.

Before they used the oval crest, they had a pentagon shaped one (same colors though). That's the one used in LC.

Yeah it looks the same but definitely darker, more burgundy in the movie

I wonder why not all the hats had the logo. As I said before, the lining is plain in the cliffhanger scene

Maybe someone was paying attention and did not want the logo being seen. It would almost be tantamount to product placement.

Could you see Indy taking a swig out of a bottle clearly labeled "Jack Daniels" or something like that?

HJ also had a white oval logo at that time, with dark lettering that would be hard to make out from any distance on film. That might be the lining that weas used for the cliff scene in LC.
