Desperate for a holster! Todd's mistake puts me in a spot.

Post by maboot38 »

Hey all. I ordered a deluxe LC holster from Todd many months ago, and he updated the site eventually to say that the LC holsters were backordered. 3 backorder arrival dates have come and gone and the holsters are not in.

Furthermore, they didn't tell me that the actual holster that I ordered was discontinued, so I was actually waiting for a holster that they had no intention of shipping.

I know Todd is having a hard time with his supplier, but the result of this is that I need a Webley LC holster, and QUICK! For some reason, finding a good replica is very difficult.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find one, or does anyone have an old one they are willing to part with?

Try International Military Antiques. They have one for $39.95, but you'll have to dye it black.

I had one of these back in the day. Good holster for the money. Use black Feibings (or any leather dye) and you're good to go.

I find it really amazing that this is so hard to come by. Think about it. I can go online RIGHT NOW, and buy SA Fedora, shirt, jacket, pants, bag, bag strap, whip, web belt, necktie, boots, EVEN UNDERWEAR!!! :)

But I can't buy the holster from 3 of the movies!!!!!

Steve over at Lost-ark.net is doing them now. But they cost a pretty penny!

What's wrong with the IMA holster, maboot? It's your best bet if you're in a rush. I have a S&W Victory holster I got from them which is a great holster. I use it for my real S&W.

There's nothing wrong with IMA except they are too light, and I was hoping to be able to buy one without having to dye it. Looks like I may have to though.

I think if you dye it, that will also help in adding to a distressed look. I say get it and have fun making it your own. It'll probably turn out great.

OK, I'm leaning that way. Does anyone have good instructions on how to dye it. I've never dyed leather before, so I'm not sure where to start. Any tricks, or do you just get the leather wet and brush it on?

What about bleaching it first? Any help?

Leather dye will probably have instructions on it. I died a pair of boots a long time ago, I'm pretty sure it was mostly "brush the dye on the leather", but it's been a while, so I can't say for sure.

Keep looking on Ebay for a proper Webley holster. If you don't like it, you can always put it BACK on Ebay and sell to someone else.

They'll usually be pre-distressed (60-80 years worth of weathering). You can also search for vintage leather holster and get a couple close-enough hits for low $$.

Perhaps someone can loan you one if you need it for an event. Seems like many of the lads have more than one :-) I'd send you mine, but it's for the .38.

LC Holster

Post by ProfessorHenryWJonesJr »

Unfortunately, Pacific Canvas and Leather is still awaiting for their .455 Webley holster stock to arrive. Spoke to them this afternoon and they stated that it SHOULD be in this week.

And, at last check, IMA currently does NOT have their replica .455 Webley holster up for sale on the website.

weaponx24, it's too bad you are in that position as well, but I wouldn't say that Todd dropped the ball that much. He was led to believe that his supplier would get him the holsters by a certain date, and they missed that date and promised him a new one, and they missed that date as well. I can't fault him for that but what I think Todd could have done differently is to make sure that his website was updated with this information. I was upset that on September 15th, Todd's website still said that the holsters were due on August 20th.

It is unfortunate, but I think that Todd was put in a difficult position as well. I don't know if his Pakistani vendors have the same set of priorities as we do. :)

I ended up finding a nice COW member who was getting rid of a WWI Webley holster, so I canceled my Todd's order.

Your right....I know its not his fault...its his suppliers fault...but ####! I mean he's got to be ticked at his suppliers. I mean thats just bad business. Anyways, I didnt know if I was going to recieve my holster in time for my Halloween costume so I went and tried to cancel my order with Todds. Turns out they let me know that they shipped out my order yesterday. So now I just have to wait to see what its like when it gets here.

I finally got one! I cancelled my Todd's order, but was lucky to score an actual vintage Webley holster, along with a Noel Howard belt.

Here it is:

The Webley holsters are here. Just as a point of interest, I ordered these in May. I was told in May it would be four weeks. The story ever since then has been "yes, they'll be finished next week". Anyway, they do make nice holsters. I have plenty.

As a result of this "overselling" I have put inventory tracking measures in place that will automatically stop taking orders for items that run out of stock. I hope that will prevent this situation in the future.

We just sold a wierd number of Webley holsters this year. We don't normally sell that many, but this year all of a sudden we were selling them like candy - everyone had to have one. I don't mean they just WANTED one, I mean they HAD to have one. Go figure.

Now if I can just get my TWO shipments of MKVII bags to clear customs I'll be in good shape. I ordered them back in July.

Good to hear things are getting back on track Todd. I stuck up for you!

By the way, that bag in the photo is from you. I love it even though it is a little too small for SA.

Keep up the great work. The site looks great, and the boots look really cool. I might even have to grab one of those knives.
