I received a secondhand FS expo abput a week and a half ago from Prescott (thankyou Prescott!!! ). It's a pre-mod dark brown Goat. I've wanted and expo for ages and have owned 4 or 5 westeds and a USW vintage cow (which is for sale by the way ). First off.... this jacket seriously rocks!!! The construction is superb with great attention to detail... as every owner of a FS will know! The leather was not as stiff or as heavy as I thought it might be from the leather samples I was sent from FS and the condition was basically brand new. It has the old pocket construction with the leather divider for the handwarmer.... I was a bit dubious about this at first as I had heard bad things about this construction detail. I have to say that I really like it though... it feels really good when you put your hands in the handwarmer pockets. Also, it has the dacron-twill lining which is really VERY NICE indeed. I also like the cotton-twill that FS offer.... That would be my first choice.
How does it compare to a Wested... well. you ARE paying alot more for the jacket... but .... i think it may just be worth it. Westeds are very comfortable and feel very lived in from the off, as well as being made to measure. I also prefer the pocket construction on the Westeds. The #### service from both FS and Wested are top drawer and I will buy fro Wested again and again but at the moment this FS expo is my fav.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures and won't be able to take any for a long time but... just close you eyes and imagine the (almost) perfect indy jacket ... only joking but it is a fantastic jacket!
All the best,
Tollan

yes.... I think you are right!!! It's great that they have managed to create such a rugged jacket without compromising the style and subtle deatails. I thought that this would be the last jacket, but I'm already thinking about when I might be able to afford a seal brown lamb from FS. I think this one is going to be fine for quite a while though
And, Prescott, you can be assured that I will test it to it's limits

Congratulations. I have three Expeditions myself and none of them are current specs. My lambskin and goatskin are pre-mod (pocket placement) and my deerskin is a prototype (it even has _'s name stenciled in the liner). It doesn't really matter to me. They're great jackets either way. Next month I'm getting an out of the ordinary Expedition. After it arrives I'll take comparison pics of all 4. Cheers
