What options to get with Raiders Wested lambskin?

Post by JC1972 »

I'm thinking of selling my G&B lambskin Expedition and USW Blue Label and getting a Wested lambskin. I want to get lambskin for being here in FL. I know G&B has a reputation of being more durable but I figure with the bills I have, I could sell those 2 and buy a Raiders Wested and have money left over. I figured I would get cotton body-satin sleeves, gussets, black rectangular slider, inside pocket, x-box stitch and nickel zip. I'm not sure of the color, brown or dark brown. I appreciate everyone's input. Thanks! :notworthy:

Ask Holt about his reenforcement stitiching, that is what I would recommend especially around the pockets, good luck withyour new jacket I'm sure you'll be happy,

Peter told me today that the Authentic Brown Lambskin is a better choice. Of course, the special offer authentic lamb is a thinner hide.

Ideally, you'd also want the arm seams to end at an inch lower than the yoke seam if you're really about SA. ;-) Otherwise it sounds great so far!

Oh, I hear ya!

Ever been desperately tearing the house apart looking for your sunglasses and they've been crowned on your head the whole time?
Yep... More times than I can count! #-o

Thanks Holt & conceited ape, appreciate your input. Yeah I was thinking dark brown as well. Looks really nice! Authentic brown looks good too, of course. Well, I have to sell the 2 jackets first so we'll see. Thanks again! :notworthy:

No worries, mate!
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right, and if screen accuracy is important to you then why not get it right the first time? ;-)

I like dark brown very much, but I think that if you are looking for SA you need an auth. brown. :-k

Ironically, many consider this to be the case.

I really like the authentic brown but I am in the camp that the dark brown looks most like what I see on screen.

I guess it partly comes down to what is an SA colour. Is it the colour as seen in real life, or the colour as it appears on film?

My opinion is that jackets in the movies look darker than real. In ROTLA a lot of scenes are filmed in the darkness. That's the reason why a lot of people think that dark brown is more SA. Peter made a lot of original jackets, and he KNOWS what colour they were.
