Burlington Coats Hat

Simple questions.

1) Still available?
2) Anyone able to get me one?
3) Any pics?

I seem to remember this was a pretty decent looking budget hat but there are no BCF's in Canada.

Last one I saw was last winter, but I haven't been in a BCF since then.

It was surprisingly decent off the shelf hat!

That said, after a quick search on their website, they list nothing for hats now.

That's what I was thinking too, M. Some of the pictures of it looked great.

I'm basically looking for a decent Temple of Doom hat and the Stetson Temple ain't what she used to be, from what I gather.

I seem to remember the BCF hat being a good start for a budget ToD.

Never trust the website. It's always best to go to BCF in person because the stock seems to vary from store to store, in my experience. I saw a nice moss green one last year, but it was to small! It was really soft, too.

They also don't generally stock a huge assortment until about this time of year.
Go back often, if you have one close by. Their stock does turn over.

The problem is there aren't any stores in Canada and I'm not about to drive to (shudder) Buffalo. 8)

Ah, thank you! I never knew they had hats. It looks like a decent hat for the price. I might have to go check it out (there's a Burlington Coat Factory like 2 blocks away!).

Hit or miss like any large chain. Personally I have not found anything I want there but you never know what might catch your eye.

I've seen a couple of decent hats not in my size the last few times I've been. But that was a while back. I know in fall/winter they load up on fedoras.

Oh, I realize that, but it seems everyone I talk to has pretty good luck finding things other than coats at their local BCFs, including hats. Our local BCF even sells luggage and home decor items. :roll: For a coat factory, they're pretty diverse...except for hats, that is. ;-)

Five or six years ago I got a wool felt fedora (narrow ribbon) at BCF for just around $20 US. Over the years I've gotten a lot of compliments on and questions about it, so that shows you that most people don't know the difference in hat quality and design.

After seeing this thread a few weeks ago I visited my local store (Chicago area) and found what you did, i.e. not much. But with hats they're very seasonal in their stock and it may be a few weeks until things come in.

It might also be that the stock differs from store to store. and since hats like these are not a staple of theirs they most likely won't appear on their website.

Ditto for the one near Broomfield, CO I was at earlier this week.

But I'm swinging by Byrnie Utz in Seattle this weekend. A MUCH better selection. :)

I was at BCF today as it was next door to Best Buy when I went to buy the Three Stooges Collection Vol 4. 8) Nothing but the aforementioned plaid stingy jobs..

Does anyone know an reputable online merchant of cheap felt fedoras? I'm really wanting something to trash up as I work in the yard, and will probably rip the lining out for breathability. Thus my desire for a cheapo.

With the pricing being the way it is now, there's no real reason to go too cheap. This site has Akubras at what I consider to be remarkably good prices, and good values. Best regards, Ken.

got my son a hat from a store called Value City here in the chicago area and they look pretty nice but they kinda grayish they were 12.99
