Adding snaps to the storm-flap

Post by Piers »

Hey all,

After many hours and days looking at and considering purchases of Raiders and ToD jackets, I've come to see my USW CE as more of a LC/CS style jacket (after all, it's nearly the same leather etc as the Skull jacket), but it's missing the snaps at the top and bottom of the storm flap to disinguish it from the first two movies.

Has anyone tried to add these snaps before, and if so, was it costly, was it local, was it successful? I reckon if I find press studs that match the zipper, it should blend right in

hello my friend. walk your jacket across the street into my building. behind timmy's is 'antonio's tailor shop' and the lady that runs it is anne. she's done leather work on my jackets and i'm sure that she can easily add snaps to yours. ask her for a price to do it before you leave it with her (she is a little pricey but she knows her stuff). you may need to bring her the hardware though.

congrats on your promotion ;-)

For all the jackets that didn't come with snaps -- I have added. Simply buy the snaps (brass) and take your jacket to a reptibule leather shop and they will be happy to do it. Takes less then five minutes, on the average and is not expensive! Hope this helps! W>

I posted pics previosuly of my Raiders cowhide Wested that I took to a leather shop/dry cleaners that added poppers to the storm flap (making it a CS jacket) for less than $10.00. They even supplied the poppers.
