Just ordered a Wested!

Post by Cammer »

Placed an order on Sunday via the website order form. Got an email back from Gemma with a number, so I guess I just wait now. I ordered a Washed Goatskin Raiders. I specified that if the goat wasn't available I would like Novapelle. I'm sure it will be a little while, they seem to be very busy this time of year.

Does the Raiders jacket come with leather zipper facings? I haven't been able to get a good answer on this.

Their form was a bit confusing as far as how to size the jacket. I hope I'll be able to work that out. I'm still awaiting a return email from Gemma.

:)

Good luck with the sizing - it's a nightmare, and it costs big to send it back and forth.

Welcome to the boards! Their Special Offer, Authentic Brown Lambskin & Goatskin jackets are pre-made, and do not have leather facings. If your jacket is a custom order, you can request no facings.

Thanks, yea, I've always been a bit difficult to fit because I have a comparatively broad chest for my height, and my arms are a bit short. I figured that I can have the sleeves taken in some if they are too long, so I basically ordered a 44 short.

What is most confusing is the back measurement. How am I supposed to know that? There really isn't a standard back measurement since it varies from one style of jacket to the next. The instructions to take the measurement read "from the bottom of the collar to the finish." Well that is about as non-specific as you can get since they don't tell you where the "finish" is. Any ideas on that? :?

Thank you! I ordered a custom jacket so I guess I would have had to specify no facings if that is what I wanted? I really don't mind either way, so it's just more for my own curiousity.

Like... how much? I received a jacket with the wrong leather from what I ordered, and I am thinking of sending it back and getting a completely different leather... and I am curious how much it costs to send it back (about)?

Ouch...

I'm really starting to think twice about this. Shipping is quite a lot and I'd hate for a $300-400 jacket turn into a $500 jacket when all is done. I might just put this on hold. :?

Come to think of it, I could order a standard $150 one from Todd and pay to have it altered and I'd have a great jacket for a lot less hassle... just a thought.

I'd just go to a local tailor and make sure your body measurements are correct, then send that through to them. By the sound of past threads most of the problems occur from people mismeasuring themselves.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that shipping to the states runs about $40 each way, plus customs duty. But if it was their mistake, traditional business practice is that they pay to fix the mistake. That would include the costs of shipping in my opinion. Just the same as if you had ordered the wrong size, you would pay to have it shipped back and altered or replaced at your cost. :-k
