Wested Pocket Gremlin

Well I've read posts about the pocket flaps comming undone,mine did on the right side, took it to my local tailor shop and he fixed it right up for 10.00, no big deal and he made it stonger than it was before, just part of owning an Indy jackert I guess. I wear mine daily and I leave the flaps open but I guess from tugging on them to get my phone or what ever I put in them must have pulled too hard. I still think it's a great jacket.

Not a good sign from a jacket that's only a few months old. As much as I love my Westeds, I don't think it is just part of owning an Indy jacket...

Nope, it's not. The Wested jackets I've owned to date are the only ones I've had this occur myself.

Yes but then again, many of the wested jackets well mostly the OTR's
are outsourced. not as good of quality as the British made custom/s but still very good.

Alas, I've suffered the same thing on one of my pocket flaps.

Granted it's only 3 small stitches that came undone, it's still a bummer and something I don't/shouldn't expect to need to fix so soon (mine's only a few months old also). I think I'll probably get it fixed up before it becomes an even bigger problem. If I lived in UK I would probably just bring it straight to Wested.

Jacksdad-How much of the flap actually came undone? and what kind of tailor did you take it to? A regular tailor or a specialty/leather tailor?

on the right flap looking down at it, on the left side of it, about 6 to 7 stitiches came out. I took it to this tailor that does everything.I can't place his accent ,but he said I fix give me half hour,ok,I think he's greek, but he's awesome. He helped me take in my sleeves on the wested when I first got it,I have short arms and I have a us wings A-2 that needed to be taken in also,and he fixed that too. I would make sure if you take it somewhere they say they specialize in leather repair. to be honest I was very disappointed it happend,but I didn't want this to become a Wested bashing thread. things happen, but hopefully in the future this problem can be corrected on future jackets.I still love the jacket

There's no bashing telling something that happened to a jacket you haven't had very long. If it had ripped because you fell on a fence and were somehow trying to blame the jacket, then it would be bashing.

I love my jackets as well but have to be realistic about how long anything will last.

Agreed. "Bashing' never even entered my mind when I typed my reply above. Why plant that idea?
