US Wings and the "Lottery" Jacket

Post by ProfessorHenryWJonesJr »

Greetings, everyone. I just wanted to share a story concerning US Wings and the Indiana Jones KOTCS "Lottery" jacket. I have been meaning to so for quite a while but, for whatever reason, haven't done so until now.

This past July, I purchased a Indiana Jones "Lottery Prize Pack" jacket off of Ebay for $235.50 thinking I was purchasing an exclusive item from US Wings for a discounted price. During that time my, knowledge of the Indiana Jones jackets was quite limited.

Anyway, in trying to determine what leather the jacket made of, I contacted US Wings. Soon afterwards, US Wings was inquiring about the jacket for it was obvious that the jacket was not produced by their company and several states had lottery brochures stating the jacket was produced by US Wings. To make a long story short, to assist US Wings with the legal issues , I provided US Wings with the "lottery" jacket, which in turn they paid for the shipment of the "lottery" jacket to their facility, credited the $235.00 for cost of the jacket towards a Collector Edition Signature Series Indy-style Vintage Adventurer Jacket with the snaps on the storm flap size xxl, and also gave me the $100 discount for being a COW member. The minimal remainder of the cost of the jacket plus shipping and handling was what I paid for.

My sincerest thanks go out to everyone at US Wings and michaelson for providing assistance and advice concerning this situation. The US Wings customer service went above and beyond of what expected and needed. Something that will always be remembered.

And my sincerest thanks goes out to "IndyGear", "ClubObiWan" and all of the knowledgable members. Though I have been a long time fan of the character of Indiana Jones and all the movies, and a long time reader of "IndyGear", my knowledge of the history, origins, and resources of all the gear was limited until this past May when my interest in Indiana Jones was vigorously renewed with the release of "Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull". With that renewed interest, along came the persistance to research all the gear. With that research came the "rediscovery" of the "IndyGear" website and the "ClubObiWan" message board.

Here are pictures of the US Wings CE jacket with outdoor lighting with no flash.

Though I know the members here would prefer to see a picture of me wearing the jacket, for my own personal reasons, it's not going to happen. It is a very nice jacket but, to be honest, it is bit heavier than desired and, through my own fault, a bit too big. As much as I would like to retain the jacket for sentimental reasons, I do not want to possess the jacket if it will not be used. So, right now I am deciding what to do with the jacket.

That is a neat story! How long ago did that happen?

And for curiousity sake, what size is it? :-k

Good evening "jnicktem",
The situation happened this past summer. To be honest, I was embarrassed that it happened. Here I was thinking I was purchasing an "exclusive" item for a great price. Yeah.....right. What's that old saying....."You get what you paid for". :x

But, I'm glad that I could help US Wings with the situation.

As for the size of the CE jacket, as stated in the post, is it a size xxl. Though I am somewhat on the bigger stout side, the CE jacket is still big on me or bigger than desired.

i got my lottery jacket this sept. and i would have liked it to be much more darker, but i am happy with it . i was on the raider.net forums and saw the link to this site where they compared the jackets and someone had said the lottery sites had said that they were us wings ----well i checked out three of the sites texas , florida and tennesee ( i believe so)
and neither said who the maker of the jackets were , just that they were officail lucasfilm indiana jones jackets --- just wanted to let you know what i found.

Wow.

That is really good of US wings. Excellent story.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

I must admit to being 'late' to COW as well, even though I have been an Indy fan for years.

Prof, if it doesn't fit, contact Sarge at US Wings and he should make it right for you. ;-)
