I've had a few private inquiries from member over the past week or two about this bullwhip and how its been holding up to use. I know a several of you also have them on order from Terry too so I thought I’d bump the thread with a few new pictures of how its looking now after a couple months of use.

that last picture shows the sheen of the whip......

in alot of the pictures on Terry's site, it looks like the whips are shellaced...
but i guess they are...

Thanks for the kind words.

I did that just for you guys. ;-)

While there is actually still a lot of tension in that first 18 inches or so where the thong as it leaves the handle, its not so ridged anymore that it cant be coiled like a regular bullwhip. Its noticeable when you throw the whip out, you can see the same effect in some of the Indy 4 publicity photos of Harrison Ford acting like hes throwing the whip out.

Yes, His whips do have a very light coat of shellac on them. Its not very heavy though, just enough to give the whips a nice finished look. I really think my camera flash makes it the whip look glossier then it really is in person.

just got my whip today.........WOW.....what a beauty. i am very impressed with the plaiting, very clean and precise.

i've got a date with the local park tonite to throw this bad boy around....i can tell right now that's its going to need some getting use to. the transition area is EXTREMELY stiff......i keep thinking of a bullwhip on viagra

what i have to watch out for is the shellac on the handle.....it might give true meaning to the phrase "throwing a whip".....

i'll try to post pics soon.

specail thanks to Dan for helping me get this beauty.

Cheers,

G
