John Williams gets an AB?

We'll have to wait until the DVD comes out, but it seems that Spielberg gave John Williams a fedora. With all the talk about the hats Steve made as gifts for Spielberg, it seems pretty likely. I can't wait to see this.

I did see this, which some of us would disagree. I liked KOTCS.

The Bottom Line:
If I had to rank the "Indiana Jones" movies, I'd say "Raiders" was best followed by "Last Crusade," "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in a very close third, and "Temple of Doom" rounding out the four. That's not to say that "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is a bad movie. I really, really enjoyed it and highly recommend it to everyone. Just temper your expectations, turn off your analytical brain, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Don't be like "Star Wars" fans that expected "The Phantom Menace" to be the best movie evar, then were disappointed.

I agree - Temple of Doom is tied as my favorite with Raiders anyway, with LC next and CS just hanging onto the list.

I was just supporting Michaelson's idea that opinion is subjective and can be very different from one subject (and indeed one subject, too) to another. I know some people liked Crystal Skull, and I hope they get the help they need.

That was my assessment, thanks for saying it for me, then I don't have to type so much.

Raiders=best, LC=runner-up, CS=ok, but not that ok., and to me, subjectively speaking of course, always have to throw that in, TD=well I think I've said it before...

That's the way I would rank them as well. The main problem I have with Temple of Doom can be summed up in two words: Willie Scott. She's the Jar Jar Binks of the Indy saga. Mind you, I don't blame Kate Capshaw; she's a capable acress and simply played the character as written and directed, but all the screaming and inane comments get on my nerves.

That said (and getting back on topic), I'm looking forward to adding the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull dvd to my collection; I enjoyed the film, flaws and all.

Yep, I would say she was the prettiest of the "Indy girls" but unfortunately, as far as the character went, she was also by far the most annoying!

Can't wait to see a pic of J. Williams in a fedora.

I'm really surprised at how many people rank KOTCS before TOD

I'm a huge Indy fan, but I would rank KOTCS behind The Mummy...2

I really learned to love TOD as I got older. It defintely ranks 3rd, but deserves more than CS. Sorry to get off topic.

Yes, it is. But, given your age it is completely understandable.

I remember talking to Steve when he was making hats directly for Spielberg so he could hand them out to freinds. I guess Spielberg was very happy with the hat or he wouldn't have offered them as gifts.

THANK YOU!! -Ever since I can remember, people have always said how much they hate(d) Temple of Doom. The funny thing is, not once have I said I hated it... [please nobody beat me for what I am about to say] Actually, I was my favorite Indy movie growing up. Of course then I got older and learned more about the stories, but even then, It still wasn't my least favorite.

I'm watching my Crystal Skull DVD right now...I have the 2 disc special edition and in the "Adventures in Post-Production" video....Steven presents John Williams with his very own AB....It's a beautiful fed and looks good on him too!!

Quick little story on John's hat. Bernie wanted to have a nice hat box for Steven to transport the hat in. I had none, until I thought of the 2 Optimo hat boxes that I had recieved my Optimos in several years ago. So, I paste my logo over the Optimo logo, and send it on. I noticed on the bonus dvd that indeed Steven used that black hat box.

Also, most of the plain white liners in Harrisons hats came originally from Optimo, through Art Fawcett. Apparently at one point in time when Art was first getting into making hats, Graham had sold Art some "different" white liners. I bought probably all that Art had, and used these in Harrisons hats since they were much classier than what my own liner maker used. Plus, they were the most unusual liner construction I had ever seen, and I have seen alot of liners over the years. The rest of the hats, the stunt hats recieved my liner, just plain with no logo. Although at least one of the Ford's hats, a sample, had this stunt liner in it.

We once considered having this weird liner replicated for our hats, but once I discovered they were European in origin,(company long gone) I decided to not replicate them. Mainly because the real deal film hats would have a liner that was no longer made, and obsolete, thereby making it almost impossible to create fake film hats. And I am sure no collector would ever post pics of exactly how that liner was made. But from what I was told, Lucas kept most of those hats left over from the film. You probably won't see many around for a few years, but I could be wrong on this. I know of a couple that got "snuck" out and sold to collectors. Fedora

Not that anyone wants anyone to pass off any hats as being used in the film, but it strikes me as ironic the guy who started out wanting to make a copy of the first film hat, decides not to make an exact copy of the film hats he made for the fourth film.

John Williams is the composer that wrote the music for all four of the Indiana Jones films. You should care because he's a musical genius who has written many of the most recognizable themes in the world, including the "Imperial March" from ESB (arguably the single most recognized theme ever).
