Wested OTR washed goat Raiders vs. LC
Okay... I've been planning on getting a special offer Wested washed goat LC jacket, but I saw the new special offer Raiders, and now I'm torn. I simply can't decide which to get!
So my question is: Are there any inherent advantages to either jacket in everyday wearability? Are there any annoying things about the design that would bug me when wearing either? Which looks better? Sorry, I'm desperate here... it's too hard!

They are basically the same except for the snaps on the stormflap of the LC.
I personally don't like the looks of the snaps, but they might not bother you.
Having the snaps has the advantage of beight able to keep the flap from flaring out when the jacket is zipped. also you can snap the bottom and not have to zip it up.
The collars are slightly different in shape as well. To me, the current LC collar seems like a caracture of the original... more like the elongated and pointy CS collar.
Which jacket do you like the look of better on screen?
Hope this help!

one of the big differences between the raiders and LC is the cut of the body
this is specs from of the rack jackets.
Raiders:80's cut ( special offer rola)
2 inch extra bodymovement room
higer yolk
higer armholes
smaller collar
round stormflap corner
Inside left piped pocket
tapered sleeves
no snaps
pockets are hit and miss (size and flap)
x-box
longer straps
D-rings (not SA)
cotton lining
Nickel zipper
ADVATAGE IN WEARING: for shirts and thin sweathers this jacket is VERY nice.(spring, summer evenings and fall)but if you plan on using it in the winter and with thick sweathers underneath, then this cut will be to thight if you order your chest size, and it will make you feel anoyed by the restricted movement room. if you want to use with lots of clothes underneath it then order one size up.
Raiders:standard cut,of the rack
fuller cut in the body. (4'' of bodymovement room.)
lower yolk then the 80's cut (1'')
sligthly bigger collar then the 80's cut.
no tapered sleeves.
pockets.hit and miss.
D-rings
X-box.hit and miss
facings.
heavy bound inside pocket.
cotton lining.
heavy duty brass zipper
LC: full cut
Tapered body down to the waist (meaning, regular fit in the chest of 4'' extra room but tapered down to the waist 2'' extra room.)
lower yolk.
bigger armholes
baggier sleeves.
snaps.
Larger collar with different stand the raiders.
pockets are not SA,but ok.
it has a hem stitch which is also not SA
rectangulars instead of D-rings (not SA)
X-box. again not SA.
shorter straps and placed lower on the jacket.
Facings.
silk lining
heavy duty brass zipper
ADVANTAGE IN WEARING:this cut is perfect for the colder weather.(end of fall, winter)it has pleanty of room in the chest and shoulder that make it a very nice jacket to use with thick sweathers under it.
some advise.Dont get a jacket just to GET a jacket.do some thinking and searching on your own.Maby call Peter up and talk to him.read alot before you decide.if not you will probably end up with something that will have to be replaced by something new and more fitted. This is something that happens alot around here ;-)

Actually, if you're talking about the Raiders Special Offer in washed goat, it does have facings. That's the jacket I have and that is pictured at the top of this thread:conceited_ape wrote:Holt, does the Raiders Special Offer have leather facings?

That should be the text for the ROLA Special.Indiana Holt wrote:a special offer raiders should NOT have inside facings.

The one WM got was the RAIDERS Special.

Thanks guys... the problem is I love both films equally, so that isn't really a difference, but the extra wiggle room will probably push me towards the LC. Thanks for your help!
I guess this is just me second guessing myself before I make a commitment... I' so excited, and yet worried I'll pick the wrong one.

don't worry, you will! About a month after you have it, you'll be looking for the 'next' one that has, oh, maybe something just a little different!indiana bob wrote:
