Oh, no... It is happening!

Well, I was in Cabelas this past weekend (had a $50.00 gift card to burn up) and I made the usual tour through the bargain cave and then through the men's department.

I was thrilld to see a few people trying on (crappy) hats, but horified as what I saw next:

Like Indy seeing the snakes in the well of souls, I must have had the same look on my face!

There, in the leather jacket area, was a 'loose interpretation' of Indy's jacket. It was heavy looking (but cheap feeling) cow hide, with a lining inside (insulated I suppose). Patch pockets on the front, side strap adjustment... The basic elements were there, but the details were al wrong. No doubt this is supossed to be an Indy jacket, and I'm sure many will be found under christmas trees this year... It just looked, well, weak to me.

Now to be fair, I have to admit that this is the best attempt of an Indy jacket I have seen in a normal retailer, since (and including) the 80's.
