I was surfing the evil auction site and came across this. I was wondering what this is supposed to be with the IJ tag?

Apologies in advance if this has been covered thousands of times.

Also, this link is just to the picture of the jacket. My further apologies to the moderators if this is a no-no.

I did too but it does have the Indiana Jones tag in it. It would be easy to sew it in another jacket, I suppose. Maybe this is a Lucasfilm Sherpa special. :)

I ran into that thing as well.

Couldn't believe my eyes...

I do know that in the nineties there was a clothing brand putting out "Indiana Jones" stuff, wich had nothing much to do with Indy, except for the fact that it said Indiana Jones on the label.

Could it be one of those? :-k

Oh, they used to sell those at Disney World roundabout the mid-90's.

I remember those being sold back in the early 90's as well in places like J. C. Penny's.

As to being a Cooper, I don't think so. I've never seen them make a jacket like that as a subcontract with a faux sheerling lining, let alone for sale in places like Penney's. They were under contract to make jackets for Disney and out of their own catalog... not large store chains. :-k

Maybe David Hack can confirm or deny that, as he reads these pages regularily.

Is that one of Pepsi's Last Crusade promotional jackets? I won a couple of their denim/canvas versions (which I think were Coopers) from their contest in '89... I think there was also a leather version that you could win that was similar to the one in the picture...

Back in 89' there was a whole line of "Indiana Jones" jackets. The only thing that bound them together was the tag. "Indiana Jones" was a brand name for about two seconds. The "Indiana Jones" knife is from the same period. Cheers
