Last Crusade Lounge Robe lookalike

Post by indy_den »

I've always like that dark blue (?) robe that Harrison Ford wore in The Last Crusade as shown in this picture.

So I've tried looking for a robe that matches the color and style but the closest I have found so far is this one now part of my collection:

I got this from Mervyn's, it's a High Sierra lounge robe that I bought for about $22. The material is a thin fabric of cotton and polyester. The sleeves don't quite match the LC picture as Ford's blue robe has its sleeves wrapping his arm snugly and also his robe looks like the thicker cotton. The closest thing I have seen that may match the style (but not the color) is Restoratin Hardware's robe as shown in this picture:

I always thought it was a really deep forest green. I could be mistaken.

By jove Maryon, you're right. Just watch LC again on tape and it is actually more like a dark turqoise color, that's how I mistaken it for a dark shade of blue. I wonder if anyone knows a source selling these robes?

Also in watching LC over, I've noticed Ford wearing an overcoat briefly when he was getting out of the car after Marcus before taking the flight to Venice. It looks like the one he has on in Clear and Present Danger:

I believe you are right. Here's the one I got from L.L. Bean.

At $39 it's not a bad deal. They have in Navy as well.

Sweeet! Thanks Pyroxene! Tracked down another Indy Gear... they do look very comfortable.

Oh and nice red robe, I've noticed that screen grab of Harrison Ford in that same robe, which movie was that from? Just jolt my memory for now (till I get my DVDs in Oct!), it's Raiders right?

Yes, Raiders. When Marcus meets Indy at his house, Indy is in his robe. It's the closest one I could find.

FYI. I found a Cherokee (Target-brand) robe that resembles the LL Bean one and it even has it in "hunter" color, selling for $25 at your neighborhood Target. Their green seems a little lighter than the LL Bean one. I have ordered my LL Bean robe with the monogram "Indy Jones" (10-characters allowed, incld' white spaces). I'll get it Tue... so we'll see.

That's funny. I wonder what they are thinking back at LL Bean....

At the time, they were called Wing Hop Fung. Now they are called Asiachi. http://www.asiachi.com/7colbrocbatg.html

They have a photo of one in black. I ordered the red.

Schwammy was the first to find the link.
