Keppler Indy Fedora?
How long does it usually take to get one of these from Adventure Supply?

Hey Rundquist, I know this was probably touched on before, but were the differences between Lee's 'old' fedora offering and 'new' offering ever outlined?
I remember reading a good few months ago that Lee upgraded his Indy hat. And if I remember the pictures I saw correctly, it looked fabulous. I'm interested in getting one in grey (I have a brown one that’s over 2 years old), but wanted to know what the differences were.
The lid he's sporting in his "honorary" administrator picture is incredible looking. If the new tops are akin to that fedora, I may just order one today.
Anyone who can lend some insight is encouraged to chime in.
Thanks in advance.

Lee’s fedora has gone through some changes over the years, but for the most part has stayed the same for over a year. A few months ago he was working on a new fedora but it never came to fruition. Lee has decided to stick with his tried and true. Most of the changes in Lee’s hat over the years were block changes. He’s now arrived at a block that most people are very happy with. If you got your brown hat 2 years ago, then chances are you would get a different block if you ordered a gray one today. The current block is a little bit taller than the old one. It has a slightly different shape as well. I believe that Lee sells the gray in two different shades, a light and a dark. I believe that Michaelson recently bought the darker shade so you might want to ask him what he thinks of the color. I had the lighter shade (I’ve since given the hat to my dad), and I always thought that it was a really nice color, not to mention a nice hat. You’ll have to do your research on which is best for you. If you want I’ll see if I can dig up some pics of the light gray. That's right, I have a dark grey Keppler that I'm extremely happy with. It is a bit taller than a Fed, about equal to my PB as seen in my Avitar picture, and reminds me a LOT of the PB in construction and weight. It's about as close to a gunsmoke grey as I can think of comparing to, and probably 2 shades darker than his light grey felt. Just a real nice fedora. Regards. Michaelson

That makes sense. Rick Blaine (Indiana Dan)'s Keppler is the perfect fit on my head in terms of height and brim width. His I'm thinking is over 2 years old. My new Keppler seems taller and has a wider brim from what I can remember...see pics below:Rundquist wrote:If you got your brown hat 2 years ago, then chances are you would get a different block if you ordered a gray one today. So does mine look taller to you guys? or maybe the brim makes it look bigger?

Actually Dan and I got the first two of the current hat on the same day. Dan’s is the same as ITG’s. ITG, didn’t you have your hat tweaked a little? It looks like it’s been creased a little taller than how Lee normally sends them. The pics below are all off of video so they’re not the greatest. Cheers
Mine when new.
Rick Blain's after the stiffener had let up. The hat looks better with age. After it becomes softer, the sides pull in even less making the sides of the crown straight as can be.
My old light gray Keppler (the pics are a little blown out, it’s not quite that light). This is the old block.

That's good to know.Rundquist wrote:Actually Dan and I got the first two of the current hat on the same day. Dan’s is the same as ITG’s.
Nope, no tweaking has been done. I haven't even considered tweaking it because Lee is a master at what he does and I don't wanna mess it up. I do think it is a bit tall on me, but I know Lee know's what he's doing. I don't think there's enough of a visible camel's humps dip area in the front part IMO...it is too rounded...not sure if I'm making sense to you guys with how I'm describing it.ITG, didn’t you have your hat tweaked a little? Guys, your hats look fabulous! Lee's fedora has certainly improved! Thanks for the comparison photos. They really help. The block really looks to have gotten better in regards to shape and overall look.
ITG, those shots of you, Jeremy Bullock and Bonnie Maree Piesse look great too. Were those taken at Celebration II? Oh, and your hat looks great as well!
I think it’s time for me to give Lee a call.
I appreciate it gang.

Nope, that was at the Dallas ComiCon this past July. Their next show is in October...Anthony Daniels and Warwick Davies are scheduled guests so far. I've heard through the Grapevine that there may be a few actors from Indy, but I haven't heard anything official. (Can you tell I'm trying to get some of you fans down to Texas?)Indiana_Jonesing wrote:ITG, those shots of you, Jeremy Bullock and Bonnie Maree Piesse look great too.
