Wested Special Offer ROLA soft Goatskin?

Post by lpa53 »

Has anyone seen one of these, or any of the other Special Offer Wested Jackets. Their site says they're made overseas but to Wested's specs, but I wonder if the leather thickness be the same and the stitching decent.

I'm interested in the fact that these are "80s" cut ulike the OTRs. Just don't think I want to go the custom route at this time.

If these offshore-made ROLA's are thinner than the home-grown Wested's, then I may as well go the Todds direction if I'm trying to save $$.

I have a ROLA Special in lamb and it is definately a well-made jacket. The Indian "factory" is run by a long-time employee of Wested who moved back to India. Maybe KT Templar can chime in about further information on stuff like leather, but I believe they use European leather from the same source as the British-made jackets.

Regards, Geert
