New Todds Holster

Post by IndianaBogart »

Ok, my new Raiders holster came two weeks ago but I was at school and didn't go home until this past weekend. When I got home there it was waiting on me. It's great. Not gonna post too much about it cause most people already know about them. But here it is right out of the box:

In the third pic is the little patch that covers the back of the brass stud. After reading about it in another post, I figured I'd post a pic of it. It's kind of a cool thing that Todd put on there to protect your gun.

I distressed it a little bit. I put 2 coats of leather conditioner on it. Then when it was dry, I LIGHTLY sanded it with fine grit sandpaper, and went over it with steel wool to remove some of the shine. Then I added a coat of brown KIWI shoe polish to darken it up. I'll probably work on it some more the next time I'm at home.

What do you guys think?

Actually, now that I think about it, I sanded/distressed it more after this picture was taken. It looks more distressed now than in the above pic.

Looks nice. I too have that holster, and I love mine except that the stitching on the belt loop came completely undone, and I'd only worn it once. I fixed it..kind of, but as far as I know I don't know of this being a common problem.

Thanks guys.

NatiJones - unfortunately it will be a while before you get to see a finished product. I won't be home for a week and a half, and even then I don't know if I'll have time to get around to work on it. But when I do get done, I'll most certainly post pics.

Vaderbreath - I hate to hear about your holster. That's a shame. Maybe you should talk to Todd, it might have been defective or something. :-k

whipitgood - the leather isn't too soft. It is more so on the flap and the strap, especially after leather conditioner and just working it with your hands. But overall, it's fairly sturdy, and I'm sure it will soften more over time and with more conditioner and shoe polish.
