Wested Goatskin jacket

I've had my otr goat for about 3 months now and at first I thought it was really thin and different from my Cooper A-2 jacket,but now that I've worn it daily and in the rain,it has broken in and seemed to thicken up and almost change texture,more like the A-2 goat skin and feels heaiver and I just love it. My question is: why does it seem thicker now and heavier? I've never showered with it and it hasn't gotten soaking wet,just damp but has dried. Has anyone else experinced this,just curious.

Leatehr loosens up with wear givine the sense that it is thicker. Leather's an organic material, not a plastic, so it changes with conditions (and wear).
