Hey all,
I'm contemplating buying G&B's goat Expedition. Does it have these gussets you all are talking about? It seems like a pretty faithful reprodution.

The Expedition not only has gussets, it also has pleats and gussets built into the lining as well. Some might say that makes little difference to how the jacket feels. They might be right based on the fact that the gussets are small and the biswing-back pleats are not deep (like on a Navy G-1 jacket). I’ll tell you what though. Without that stuff built into the lining, your jacket has a 0% chance of outside pleats and gussets making a difference in the functionality of the design. CheersAlkali Jones wrote:Hey all,

Not part of the hero jacket. It was decided that improvements don't count if you can't see them. ;-) If you wanted to be totally "screen accurate", you'd also need a broken aluminum zipper that doesn't work. Technically the lining mods are screen accurate anyway. You never see it on screen. Cheersindyrocks wrote:Were the gussets/pleats built into the lining of the hero jacket? Does anyone know this for certain? Or was it added by G&B to be more durable and functional as Rundquist says?

Newbie Question: Gussets
Still learning: What are gussets?indyrocks wrote:Is there a film shot/behind the scenes pic that clearly shows that Ford's jacket had gussets? Or has it been confirmed through a different source?
Do gussets greatly affect the way the jacket fits? My Westeds do not have gussets and I never gave it much thought...

Re: Newbie Question: Gussets
Do a search. Not only is it worth knowing what they are, but how they came to be. Trust me, it's a good story.lpa53 wrote:Still learning: What are gussets?indyrocks wrote:Is there a film shot/behind the scenes pic that clearly shows that Ford's jacket had gussets?
