Just got back from a week in Florida with my family. It was the first time I've really put my AB to the test. Crushed in my luggage, Florida heat and humidity, drenched on the water rides. It held up like I knew it would.
The most impressive thing it did however, was literally turn heads at Hollywood Studios. The "Indy" @ the stunt show commented that I had a nicer hat than he did and I even had several families want to get their picture with me despite the fact that I was wearing very un-SA shorts and Converse All-Stars and stand a towering 5'7". Everywhere I went, people commented on the hat, and always positive. People took pictures and parents told me that their kids were thrilled to see "Indy". The hat looks better than ever and really made a lot of people smile!
How was the stunt show and Indy ride? My girlfriend and I are thinking about traveling there in October. I live in L.A. and have been to Disneyland a million times. Last year I got to visit EuroDisney, which was very disappointing and the Indy ride there was a lousy roller coaster. I just want to make sure WDW is worth the small fortune we plan on dropping on a vacation there.
Thanks everyone. It was a blast as many of you know.
I'm not this particular AB's original owner as I purchased it from another member some months ago so I can't say for sure what all it has undergone to arrive at the beautiful shape it has.
Original owner or not, the hat looks beautiful. I'm glad you and your family had a good time. It seems you visited Disney on the one weekend I wasn't there.

I think it's great! My 5th time to WDW but haven't made it to Anaheim or any of the overseas Disney parks for comparison. If your looking for a great value, travel during the first three weeks of Sept. Disney World resort guests eat for free at all the parks and hotels!
My wife & son and I were there just a couple of months ago Tron (FIRST time for us) and we had the Greatest Time. I'm sure we'll be back there in another year or two. Who knows? Maybe we'll be able to "line-up" our schedules next time? It'd be cool to meet you and yours.
(In the meantime, I'll make it my personal mission to try and have a lid that's even HALF as beautiful as YOURS is, by that time!)
And yeah, your AB put "Disney-Show Indy's" Hat TO SHAME! Not THAT dude's fault, I know... he probably thought he was doing fine until YOUR lid walked into his life!
(I'm picturing that right AFTER you left he went STRAIGHT to his Supervisor and said "Can somebody from "Budget" pony-up a little Disney moolah and get me a hat THAT cool, please?!)
I just got back Monday from WDW. I wish I would have seen you there and I could have got my pictuce with you too. I have a house 7 miles from WDW and I go down 4 or 5 times a year. If anyone would like to rent the house let me know and I will give a COW discount. Great pictures and great hat.
The Indy gear on the Stunt Spectacular Indy has really gone downhill. When we were there in July the pants and jacket were way the wrong colors, even my worst Close Enough's would have been 2x better.
How hard is it for their costumers to make a little effort?
(ok, the Marion blouse and pants are much better now)
PS my wife and I met at the Adventurer's Club @ WDW 16 years ago.
The costume varies from actor to actor. Though it would be nice if the costumes were a little more SA, the show is not all about the costume and it has far from gone down hill.
Dave
p.s. I love the Adventurer's Club. It's sad that it is all being torn down.

Yeah, that bites!
We just found out about the plans to tear down the clubs while we were at pleasure island on our last night. We had dinner at Raglan Road which was top notch in my opinion!
Raglan is one of the newer restaurants and I think Disney is keeping it. It is the only restaurant open after 11:00 pm so it is great for those late night dinners. The food is great. I always have the Guiness beef stew, though the Guiness ribs are great as well.
Here are a few more pics of the AB at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
It got absolutely drenched on a ride called Kali River Rapids but came out like a champ!
I left the HJ at home but trusted the AB to take the punishment.

I've had that experience since donning an Indy fedora. Not the photo op stuff, but, quite a few smiles, nods, and waves. See, to them your just a freak... like ME! No, I have yet to get a negative response from ANYONE.
Gald you had a good time Tron,I'm dying to go to Disney but it's not in the cards this year, been since 2002 since we've been there. Hopefully soon. But it looked like a great time, can never have a bad time a Disney. because your on vaction and it's jsut great to be away and with the family full time.

Just curious, I've never taken my HJ (my one and only hat so far) out of the house ever since buying it, but is there something about it that it won't withstand punishment like an AB or Fed? (Will it get permanently ruined if I get it wet?)
You cannot compare a beaver hat like the AB to a rabbit hat like the HJ or a Federation. If you have the Mag/HJ then it will hold up better than a stock HJ, but the Federation still holds up better because of the hare that is mixed with the rabbit. I wouldn't get the HJ soaked. I would advise not to take it to Disney as Florida weather is unpredictable and many rides leave you soakin' wet.
alphared, what week in November will be in Disney? I am heading over for the last weekend of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, November 7-9.
I know I'll go up in December. That is my favorite time to go to Disney...heck, its my favorite time of year. Don't know if I will be there the first week of December though. Either way, there will be a bigger crowd than there is right now, but there is a great feeling that runs through Disney, apart from the normal magical feeling that it exudes, this time of year. Enjoy.
