the TN pleats are not as functional as wested's pleats from what i can tell. if i were a betting man, the pleats were re-designed in TN's jacket to be more of window dressing than anything. i could be wrong though.....but from my experience, it feels like the TN jacket does not rely on the pleats for movement whereas the westeds do.

Mine has the elastic. I'm pretty sure it is standard on TN's CS jackets.
I didn't ask for them, but they're there.
