Has anyone put Pecard on a US Wings Blue Label?
I won't see my US Wings Blue Label for a week or two yet, and I'm getting curious as to what Pecard will do to it. In all the pictures so far, the jacket appears to be a rather light coloured jacket, and I'm half-hoping that a dose of Pecard will darken it up a bit. I don't mean that it will suddenly turn seal brown, or something, but just a touch darker? Anyone done it?

If you're going to do it, use standard Pecards leather dressing.
It WILL turn the jacket a very dark brown and the suede feel and appearance will go away. Bear in mind, though, the jacket WILL lighten up again colorwise as the dressing soaks in and evaporates from the surface after a period of time.

Are you going to put Pecard's on? And when it does evaporate, is that when you reapply? I've never done it so I want to make sure I don't screw it up. The jacket is a little light for me and I too thought it looks like suede.

No, I am not. I have other smooth skin jackets that I will wear should inclimate weather occur, and if I'm caught in a storm wearing this one, it will dry.
As to your question, yes, you just add more Pecards to your jacket after it's lightened up as your usual jacket care regimine.

My jacket will be arriving in the first half of the week ahead... maybe Monday or Tuesday... and hopefully my new tub of Pecard will arrive before that weekend, too. All told, I am hopefully 7 days away from slathering Pecard all over my USW Blue Label.
And, yes, there will be pics when I do. Before and after. Maybe even during!

I applied the gelle (or cream) on mine and it turned into a very nice medium brown, and removed the suede feel altogether. ####, it's like a whole 'nother jacket.
I read somewhere that the dressing would be not as good because of the beeswax. Something about the natural material versus what is in the cream. It was on the board, but I will be ###### if I can find that post again!

As you point out in your last line, it depends.Herr Doktor wrote:Michaelson,
What's the ballpark time frame for the lightening of the jacket? Are we talking months, weeks, years? Obviously, weather and wear conditions will be a factor...but just trying to get an idea.
If it's fairly humid, it will take a few months. If you're in a dry sunny area, weeks.
It all depends on your locale.

I just put some Pecards on my new US Wings jacket; the lower left corner has been treated, while the lower right has not.
