My USW Limited Edition
Well, I finally decided to post pics of my USW beauty. I did a little distressing on the sleeves and colar to make it fit my tastes a little better.
I love the feel of this leather, it's amazing. I can't wait for the temperature to drop because my wifes tired of the house being an icebox so I can wear it in the evenings
This jacket is amazing, I understand now, what everyone has been talking about for so long. Also the quality of the construction is just incredible. There is not one thing I would change about it.
Anyways, here she is.... What do ya think?

Yeah Chewie, exact same leather.
I got a little worried when it was shipping, on whether it would fit or not. I had already had to return one of Todd's standards because it was too short for me. But this fits great on me and feels perfect. I'm a coat guy normally but this jacket sits perfectly where I want it to.

What size did you get and what are your measurements? I'm thinking of getting an XL cowhide as I am 6'3" 215 lbs. Thanks!Tennessee Smith wrote:Yeah Chewie, exact same leather.

Thanks Everyone!
I'll try to get a few pics of the jacket in sunlight today, so it can be seen with better lighting
The size is a USW medium, I'm 5'11" and wear aound 46 in a Wested. What size did you get and what are your measurements?
Thanks, the sleeves were a lot easier to distress than I imagined. I took one of my 4" diameter poster tubes and fed it through the sleeves after I soaked them in water and rubbed it in. Then I smooshed them from the cuff to the seam of the shoulder and let them set for a few hours. I did this 2x and I really like the way they turned out.I love everything about it but the sleeves look particularly good.

Honestly, its the leather. This is a nice durable, thick hide. This thing has some weight, which is exactly what I wanted.St. Dumas wrote:Tennessee, how'd you get the collars to look like that? That looks superb.
SD
The leather itself was pretty giving and accepted all the modifications I threw at it. For the collar I got it wet and rubbed the water in to saturate. Then I proceeded to roll a "S" shape out of the standard flat collar. I over exaggerated the roll going so far as to include the top of the storm flap. I then put in on a thick wooden hanger to dry; making the jacket rest as far forward as possible to put more weight on the back crease. Then I took it off the hanger the next day and wore it around the house, pulling, twisting and suffered a brief episode of narcissism while looking in the mirror, other than that it was pretty easy.

By "CE" do you mean the standard distressed cowhide version?Michaelson wrote:No, same leather....just a different run. Remember, the difference between the LE and CE is the LE run was used in the making of the production jackets for Crystal Skull.
Otherwise, no difference between the items but the provenance.
Regards! Michaelson
The CE (Collectors Edition Signature Series™ Indy-style Vintage Adventurer Jacket) is a slightly different version of the PD cow due to the provenance of the leather used to make it

So then, the LE is an even rarer jacket that's not listed on their website, but is the exact same run of hide?Piers wrote:The CE (Collectors Edition Signature Series™ Indy-style Vintage Adventurer Jacket) is a slightly different version of the PD cow due to the provenance of the leather used to make it

Hey everyone, thanks for all the compliments.
I agree it fits me fine... but it is a medium and I'm usually a Large, Extra Large guy. So that says how much oversized their sizing is... then again I could be a slouch and wear oversized clothing... (maybe my Mom was right! )bigrex wrote:For a USW it's not big at all.Kevin Anderson wrote:It seems a little big, but the colour and distressing is PERFECT!
I can only imagine how fast they're going to sell out of the TOD jacket Holts working on.Michaelson wrote:One week, to be exact.

I'm also a size 44/46 and i own a couple of medium shirts that fit the same as a large. and a couple of extra large shirts that fit more snuggly than a large. funny how much give there is in sizing from one manufacturer to another.

Alright, I'm at a crossroads... should I wash it?
The leather is thick but I'd like a more seasoned drape to it. I also want it to feel broken in a bit more. I just love this jacket so much and I don't want to go past that point... of well, we've all seen the pictures here.
Truth be told, everyone here has mention how the distressing looks good, pockets and all but I only lightly, and I mean lightly scuffed them. Most of what you see is the actual leather. But as I said I think I want to wash it... Any suggestions? Any warnings?
