Dillards Pants...

Post by Indy Magnoli »

This might have been covered before, but I found a nice pant alternative during my American expedition.

They're made by Oak Creek, which I believe is a Dillards brand. They have a finished, uncuffed hem, to rear pockets (a good enough shape that most people wouldn't feel obligated to re-do them) and are available in khaki (which I feel is too light) and saddle (which I personally love). The material is light, hangs well but feel durable. The main inaccuracy is the faux watch pocket. They best part is that they're only $25.

Here's a link on the Dillards site: http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... ootCat=430

Kind regards,
Indy

I have the feeling that some of these guys here would love these pant due to the watch pocket. Nice find.

Yeah, but it's fake. There's the fake flap and the button. I would take out the flap along with the button and then have a real watch pocket, discretely sewn in.

I have that done all the time, REGARDLESS of trouser brand. (grins) Good find, Indy. I'll have to check our local Dillards and see if they have them in stock. Regards. Michaelson

I just picked up a pair of these pants. I belive the are a good substitiue for the NH. The saddle color really looks great. I like them so much I bought one at the store and orderd another off the website(they only had one pair the right color and size). 2 pairs are always better than one. I make sure I have a backup at all times. Now that Noel has gone I guess we are all going to have to get creative as far as how we find the clothes. I only wish I had order something from him when I had the chance.

Found a pair of brown Dockers, uncuffed, pleated front, at J.C. Penny's. The brown is a somewhat lighter shade than the Fed fedora. The pants are also available with rear pocket flap for a few dollars more. Much closer in color to what you see Indy wearing in the publicity photos than dark or British khaki. Not a bad deal for $30. Worn with the Cabela safari shirt in the stone color, it's so close to the real thing only an Indygearhead would notice the difference.

Cheers,

I wear my brown Dockers all the time. The only non-Indy aspect of them is the watchpocket, but I think it adds a little 30s nostalgia to them.

Khaki Dockers WITH watchpockets are getting tough to find down my end of the State. :? They're phasing them out again for some reason. Regards. Michaelson

Yeah, actually I haven't seen any for about a month at my JC Penny's. I thought they maybe just waiting to get new stock, but they may BE phasing them out. Oh well...there is always the Internet.

Peace,

Do the Saddle colored pants need to be lightened down a little to be more accurate? I went and looked at them at my local Dillards and they sure seemed dark to me. But then I've never seen a pair of NH pants up close to judge by.
