TofD screen grab request for my hat bash

Post by crismans »

I was wanting my Penman to be the Temple bash in the scene where Indy punches out a guard, other guards run up, and then draw back because Indy has intimidated them with his action stance. Here's the screen grab that I can locate:

John said that, when he gets to the hat, he'll need some better shots of it. Anyone else know of any shots of this scene? Even a scene where the hat looks similar would be a big help (I just like the vibe of the hat here). 8)

Mucho thanks!

I like the brim in that pic. I'm sure someone is bound to dig up another reference for you.

It's hard to see the details of the crown because of the camera angle. And unfortunately, since the hat is only seen from that one angle in that particular shot, that may be about the best picture you can get.

The same hat may have been used in some of the other mine scenes, though, such as the fight with the giant Thuggee.

just remember that most of the thugee fight scenes (and the mine scenes for that matter) were shot with glen randall as ford was enjoying his papaya enzyme concauction (sp?) for his sore back...... iirc..........different hat.

Actually, I think it was Vic Armstrong. :-k
Then again he should only use the close-ups of Ford anyway.

I've found a couple of other pictures. One is a "staged" shot but the backlit, foggy background is the same so I think it's from the scene (most importantly the hat looks right). I also think it's the same hat when Indy's helping remove the shackles from the kiddies.

So what you're saying, is that the guy we see in these pictures is not Harrison Ford?

iirc, agent5 posted a screen grab of when willie saved indy and shorty from the spike chamber. when she activates the trap again, it looked like glenn randall was the one who looked up at her.......is that pic still available? i did a quick search and couldn't find it.

what i was saying that if you are referring to the hat that was in the fight scene with the head thugee......that wasn't the same hat....as that hat belonged to the stuntman. if you watch that scene carefully, alot of it was done without ford. they later reshot his closeups and spliced them in.

I was thinking specifically of the shots during the fight with the giant Thuggee where you can clearly see that it's Ford, and you also get a good look at the hat. They may be brief, but they are there.

One of these moments occurs when the Thugge punches Indy in the chest and he looks up and gasps. There are more good views just after the Thuggee dumps Indy headfirst into a mine car, and he rises up groggily and then starts fighting back. Other closeups occur as they are on the conveyor belt headed toward the rock crusher.
