Confusion with Wested's ordering web page...

Okay, this may be due to my inherent lack of intelligence, but I am having trouble discerning exactly what I should fill out on Wested's ordering page to get an OTR jacket. It would be nice if they had an option for either OTR or custom jackets and then that took you to a more specific ordering page, but if someone could tell me exactly what to fill out for an OTR jacket, I would be very appreciative. I'm not an expert on jackets and this will be my first order, and I would like to avoid a nasty surprise when I look at my credit card statement and see that I got a custom even though I only wanted an OTR.

For an OTR jacket you have go into the Wested Leather Site and not the Indyjacket.com site. Once there the OTR jacket are listed under Indiana Jones with a link for custom jackets.
The Indyjacket .com page is at present being updated so all our 'Indy' offerings will be available on that site with a proper shopping cart with Paypal links. This should be ready end of September.
Meantime bear with us.

If you don't mind me asking another question Peter, are your jackets true to their size? What I mean is that if I am a 38 chest, should I order a 38 jacket? I plan on wearing t-shirts and occasionaly maybe heavier clothing for winter, depending on how warm the jacket is.

Hey bob,

Wested is true to size. Their standard fit gives you more room than the 80s fit which is slimmer and a bit more tapered. If you're a slimmer build go for the 80s fit. It's truer to what Ford would have worn.

The special offer raiders jacket on wested.com is cut this way.

I'm getting the special offer washed goat LC/CS jacket, is that also the 80s cut? I'm thin so it shouldn't be a problem but I'm just curious. And thank you for the info!

Hmm I'm not sure about that....I would just give Peter a call or email him. I only own custom's from him so I always specified that I wanted the 80s cut.

If I'm not mistaken... 80s cut only refers to the slimmer style of Raiders jackets (as opposed to the standard), and is probably more SA (for a Raiders jacket). I think the LC/CS jackets are based on the cut of the archive jacket, which is a different pattern... And, hopefully the ToD jackets cut will be based on... well... the ToD jackets cut.

Only the jackets with ROLA Special in their name are 80's cut jackets. But I have to say that if you are planning to wear a sweater underneath you would need a standard OTR. Why? Well, the 80's cut give's you only 2" of room in the jacket for movement and clothing so it is more prone to the "stuffed sausage" effect. A standard cut would give you 4" of room, which is enough for a sweater and T-shirt (or shirt with longsleeve and sweater if it is realy cold).
I had a ROLA Special and ordered an LC custom Novapelle in standard cut for autumn/winter so I could layer up. When it arrived yesterday I thought it wouldn't be roomy enough for a thick sweater, but when I tried it on (whith the thickest sweater I have, which was realy hot) I found out that apearences were decieving. What I am trying to say here is that a standard cut LC/CS will not look too big, but will have enough room to layer-up for colder weather.
