New Keppler Fedora Showcase: You Got it? Flaunt it!
As I said before in the other thread, I am extremely impressed with the quality of hat and Lee's bashing ability. The felt is extremely soft, yet still has the needed stiffness to keep shape.
I opted for a Crystal Skull bash, which was a great choice to me. Suited my needs for this hat perfectly. Yes, Lee is adept at more than the Raiders bash for those wondering.
Also as promised, here are a few photos:
Will get some better photos shortly, I was experiencing technical difficulties with my off camera flashes, one didn't want to fire. Plus it's extremely sunny outside but couldn't wait to post something for eager eyes.
All in all, the hat has exceded my expectations. It feels substantial, yet lightweight, soft, yet rugged. I highly recommend those on the fence give Lee a call to get the ball rolling.
Can't wait to see everyone elses hats!
Randy
P.S The bottom shot makes the crown appear more rounded than it is, unfortunate choice of head position on my part.. The first shows a good idea of the lack of taper.

The hat looks great. Congrats on finally recieving the Keppler. Definately worth the wait, I think. The bash, however, looks more like a Last Crusade bash to me. The hat is very stove-pipe, even in the one with the "unfortunate choice of head position." I can't wait to see more Kepplers posted.

It looks taller in photos than in person, oddly enough. The box it came in is surprisingly "squatty". I just measured the front of the crown, and it measures a hair over 5" at the top of the pinch.
I'm not used to posing to show the details of a bash. [yet] I "measured" it against this http://www.theraider.net/films/indy4/ga ... ij4_08.jpg photo and it's pretty dead on in person. I only notice a slight difference in the pinch vs. that hat.
I do know the new ones are taller than the previous version. Dave, yours was 5 1/4 open crowned right?

Late April. Got on his site through Indy Gear main page for his phone number. I didn't even know COW existed til later. I wanted a hat for the premiere. Then I was hoping to get it in late August for my kids' birthdays (I was suppose to be Jones). This is my 1st hat and didn't know all of the time involved. Lee said this time was way out of the ordinary. Needless to say "better late than never."

First of June, I think. I think it's a combination of when you ordered and what hat size you are determines how many are in front of you. I wear a pretty big size.IndyFalco wrote:Hey crismans, when did you order your fedora from lee?crismans wrote:I spoke with Lee today. I think my hat is coming up for bashing. Can't wait to get it!

Keppler Cost
They go for around $180.00 US including shipping - and bashing too I believe.Bartram wrote:What's one of these Keppler fedora going for these days?
I can't find info anywhere online.
Lee's website http://www.adventure-supply.com/ is down while being repaired after being hacked.
From what I've read on COW, lee likes to talk over the phone. I've done that and sent him emails, too, which he does respond to, though he' seems to be pretty busy these days. You can find him in about 21 rows down on the first page of the Members list.

Heard from Lee lately?
Is Lee Keppler out of town? I've written him and he usually has answered emails but haven't gotten responses lately. Does he mind cals in the evening?
Re: Heard from Lee lately?
I spoke to Lee last Friday. He has moved his home and has been getting settled. He has a room full of hats that he is ready to start bashing and shipping. He sounded like he would be getting to work this week. Hopefully, he will take care of the outstanding orders soon.lpa53 wrote:Is Lee Keppler out of town? Ttried to call him this morning and his voicemail is full so I guess he is indeed busy. But for once I hope he hasn't gotten to mine yet before I can confirm the hat size with him!OWJ88 wrote: I spoke to Lee last Friday. He has moved his home and has been getting settled. Re: Heard from Lee lately?
Got hold of Lee today - what a nice guy to talk to! Boy, he's had a lot going on but is getting back at it. Hopefully I'll get my hat in the coming week.lpa53 wrote:Ttried to call him this morning and his voicemail is full so I guess he is indeed busy. Still a bit scared though because I've tried on another Indy hat before and the thing looked like a stovepipe on me. Is that the normal thing for a newbie to think with his first hat?
