Canadian alternatives for guns?

Post by Highlander »

Aside from some of the resin offerings in the forums, which seems to have mostly stalled in production now, does anyone know of any good S&W replicas (airsoft, or other alternatives) that I could easily get into Canada without any Customs hassles?

Appreciate any insights or feedback from fellow Canucks who have gotten a good replica with as little pain as possible.

I have a friend who is going to Vegas in a few weeks and I was going to get him to pick one up for me from Western Stage Props, but he's a lawyer and...welll...neither of us want him to end up in prison over my little hobby.

Help or advice?

I think as a fellow Canadian it is safe to say that we can use sharpened bananas, pointed sticks, or the like for a replica.

Seriously though, the best we can do here is to get a pellet gun - though there is nothing appropriate to the Indy hobby.

Resin gun

Hey Nick:

It was a bit rougher a finished product than I expected, so that was a bit disappointing, but it's better than the NOTHING I had before!

You know Nick, you guys are lucky.

Pointed sticks are a definite no-no here in the Netherlands....

I wish all we had were sticks and bananas. Calgary is getting a BAD reputation for all the shootings lately!

It's getting out of hand!

Sorry..back on topic..I managed to get a KingofNothing replica which makes me happy. :)

I tried to bring a crosman 357 across the line and they wouldn't let me, they said that replica guns are illegal in Canada, :? so I had to send it back. :( but I think if it had that orange tip on it, it would have been fine (maybe).

ST,

Why would you try to bring a Crossman pellet gun over the boarder, they're available in Canada, brand new, for about $80.00. If you want to do it right, take the appropriate courses, get your restricted firearms license and buy the real thing. You can't carry it around like our US cousins, but you can own hand guns in Canada!

Well no stores around had them and I couldn't find any online stores in Canada that had them. So to me the next logical thing to do was to get one from the U.S. The only thing was that nobody shipped to Canada.

Hey ST,

Are you still looking for a Crossman, or have you found something else? Your avatar location indicates "The wine Capital", which one Niagara, or Okanagan? Shooters Choice, in Waterloo, shows them on their website, I can give them a call and see if they have any in stock if you like. Also, if you are in Ontario, there's a gun show Sunday morning in Ancaster, just outside of Hamilton. You might find something there.

Sorry, I've been away from any internet for a while. To answer your questions I'm in the Okanagan, (I didn't know there were two wine capitals) and I have found a place but thanks anyways. :)
