I'd love to see a whip crack scene like that in an Indy film. I think we know who would make the best stunt double for that scene...

Adam,
is the Breakaway a fast Fig8 followed by a flick in the overhead/horizonal plane?

Shagbd,

Yeah, the breakaway is kind of what you describe, though the third crack after the fast figure 8 is not really a flick. You have to let the whip come under itself and then pull the whip to your left (if you're right handed) to get the crack.

It's not something I really figured out until I saw someone do the breakaway in person.

You're series of 'katana' videos got me thinking about what I'd want to see a martial artist whip cracker do, so I think I'll try to put something up in the next couple days.

Thanks bud!
ill work on it........

I got your comment on my videos, I actually do everything i do with my right hand with my left hand...... but for some reason i havent got any videos up of that... gotta get on that.
I used to have a bunch of vids up and deleted most of them... all thats up now is realy just the Kat stuff.

Ive been working on a whip "form" or kata as its called in martial arts. what i have been doing is walking thru my sword form and then translate the sword cuts into whip cracks..... not all of it translates well, but we're workin on it

Adam! You're out at the Arizona Renaissance festival!

This guy is TRULY talented, for those of you who can't tell by simply watching the video.

I was just talking about saving up and buying one of your whips sometime soon! (Though I do notice the no orders until further notice. :P)
