My Wested, Chestnut hide (pics!)
I really haven't shown off this jacket yet. I posted a pic of it around the beginning of the year, but is was poor, the color way off. These aren't spectacular, but at least you can see how it looks when worn.
It is a Wested Raiders style in pre-distressed cowhide, made in 2000. I don't see to many of these on the forum. When I ordered it, Peter told me it was his "Chestnut" hide. I think I still have the order slip with this written on it somewhere.
It is a very thin hide, but HEAVY! It was getting a bit dry so I worked leather dressing into it after I took these pics. As I did I noticed scars, and can remember what I was doing and when it happened; which barbed wire fence scored a furrow under the left arm, the welding burn on the right arm, and so on all attached to different events.
I also found a renewed appreciation for the craftsmanship. Impeccable stitching on this one! If any one else has one of these, please, let's see them!

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. Natural 'distressing' all the way, as each mark is its own story. As I did I noticed scars, and can remember what I was doing and when it happened; which barbed wire fence scored a furrow under the left arm, the welding burn on the right arm, and so on all attached to different events.
HIGH regards! Michaelson
